FIVE possible charges.

Kate could face a MANSLAUGHTER rap for allegedly accidentally killing Madeleine.
She and husband Gerry jointly face being accused of ILLEGALLY DISPOSING OF A BODY in a bid to cover up the crime.
...CHILD NEGLECT charge after leaving Madeleine and their twins alone in the holiday apartment.
...BREACHING JUDICIAL SECRECY by revealing in a newspaper interview while a suspect in a criminal case that police had seized her Bible as evidence.
...Police also want the couple jailed for OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE by hiring private detectives to hunt down their missing daughter.

LoveMama: Here's an article about the doctors:

That last charge, "...Police also want the couple jailed for OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE by hiring private detectives to hunt down their missing daughter." is interesting and sounds a bit unfair. I believe I've read that many people on this forum, or thread, feel the McCanns should have done at least that, and more.

Maybe we could get a petition going to show the PLE that we feel the McCanns did the right thing by hiring these private detectives? What say?

Here's another picture of the little girl in the photo:

The links you provided me for info on Robert Murat are greatly appreciated.

I don't think the little girl in the questioned photo looks like Maddy. There are plenty of children who have sort of long blonde hair and are around 3.

The father of Madeleine has now revealed that he suspects the abductor might have been in the bedroom during the last time he checked on his children, but the truth is that during the several meetings he had with the detectives he never mentioned this. The Polícia Judiciária finds this attitude strange because in July the Mccanns already believed Maddie was dead.

Gerry McCann never spoke to the Polícia Judiciária about this theory, which is now being spread through the English newspapers, of the abductor being in the bedroom when he checked on the children. The investigators find this new theory strange because Maddie’s father was heard formally four times in Portimão and kept regular contacts with the Portuguese police. "He had instructions to phone us any time he remembered an important detail. That one would surely be relevant, but he never mentioned it ", a police source revealed to CM.

The PJ also find it strange that, through the voice of Clarence Mitchell, the Mccanns fear to receive a telephone call telling them that Madeleine is dead.

This information contradicts the previous position of the couple, who in July told the PJ that they did not believe that Madeleine could be found alive, having even requested the services of a South African professor who specialises in finding cadavers.

The version of the McCanns seems to have only changed in August, when they were informed that the English dogs had detected corpse odour in the apartment of the Ocean Club. The McCanns were told first hand that the dogs had been requested by the police.

Yes. They have been constantly critisized for not hiring private investigaters. Now they are taking flak because they have. Go figure!!!!

I agree--the point about the witnesses to Murat being at the resort that night all being members of the McCann party hasn't been emphasized enough.

Not all the witnesses to Murat were friends of the McCanns.
Nanny Charlotte Pennington.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...tml?in_article_id=483715&in_page_id=1770&ct=5

Miss Pennington is considered a vital witness by Portuguese detectives with whom she spent more than four-and-a-half hours giving a statement. She also claims British expat Robert Murat, the first suspect in the case, was in the area of the Ocean Club complex that night. He has repeatedly denied that he was there.

She dismissed claims that the McCanns were not seen for six hours leading up to the disappearance.
She said: "I was helping give the children high tea. The twins were there and Madeleine and both parents.
"It was supposed to finish at 5.30pm but because they were a big group and really social, it didn't finish until about 6pm. There was nothing out of the ordinary at all."

Bouchra is very famous but she is also very afraid. She’s very shy because she’s not used to having strangers around. She only knows the family and our neighbours.

So now another family has been disrupted because two tourists didn't confirm what they saw before sharing a picture with the world. And now that Bouchra's picture has been flashed around the world, she might become the target of pedophiles.

I think thats a bit harsh.
Did the people with the pics do something else that you felt was not what the public should do in turning in a tip?

Trying to "confirm" a sighting on your own could be dangerous. "Pardon me maam but is that the kidnapped Madeleine Mccann child?"- If it had been Madeleine the last thing a citizen wants to do is to confront the kidnappers and endanger the child and themselves in the process so they could not very well take action on their own. They did what people all across the world have been asked to do in turning in the tip didn't they? And they even took pictures so people could see they did not imagine the likeness and that is exceptional.

You may not like that news people ran the story all over everywhere but they are pros and should know better than to endanger a child so if you want to be angry at them I could understand but the public have been urged to report any possible sightings and so they do.

This has been a good multi-cultural lesson. Blonde people are not all northern Europeans.

Exactly!

The first story I read about that picture said that the people walking down the road were "Itinerant European Immigrants." It made those people sound like Gypsies just because they were walking somewhere. Then by the end of the day, they had become a "local family" and the father an "olive farmer." :)

To me it's a good lesson in "don't believe everything you read."

From itinerant immigrants to local farmers in just one day. Gosh, that's an amazing achievement. :p

I would have to decline to sign that petition. If in fact the police are right, they indeed should to be charged. Unless she is found, we will never know

^^^^

Agree they should be charged & made accountable for their actions. They should first be charged with child neglect then they & all the Tapas 9 interrogated until they get their stories straight!

The McCanns need to be charged for OBSTRUCTION because they hired detectives to find their daughter? Weren't the McCanns being criticized, right on this board, for not doing enough to find their daughter? Can you please explain the rationale behind wanting them charged for trying to find thie child? Thanks.

If they are guilty they hired detectives to find their dead daughter = obstruction, they already know.

They have been criticized by me because they go through all the motions of people who are getting ready to start to begin having other people ask others to help plan the search.
