''Almost 50 years ago, the then 15-year-old Elke Kerll from Nienburg on the Weser disappeared without a trace - is there now a hot lead? The ZDF program "Aktenzeichen XY" took up the case on Wednesday and, according to the public prosecutor's office in Verden, 14 clues were received by the investigators by Thursday. These would now have to be evaluated, said a spokesman NDR.de. "However, it can already be said that among the clues are definitely those that give rise to concrete investigations," the spokesman continued.
After 50 years, the investigation is under way again
In March it became known that the case would be
reopened : "Extensive preliminary examinations" led to the conclusion that the girl was murdered, said the Verden public prosecutor. According to the prosecution, a "regular review" of the file led to these preliminary examinations being initiated. Investigators are now assuming that the girl fell victim to a sex offender and was murdered. A homicide commission was set up. The public prosecutor's office has offered a reward of 5,000 euros for information leading to clarification.''
Elke Kerll wanted to hitchhike to work
According to the findings of the investigators, the young person was on the night of December 13th to 14th, 1969, a weekend, together with friends in the disco Schauburg in Nienburg. Later, the group continued partying at the Scandia club. "From there she went, accompanied by a friend and her boyfriend, to an acquaintance's apartment on Am Riedekamp street in Holtorf-Nienburg, where she wanted to spend the night," said a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office. Witnesses reported that Elke Kerll left the apartment early on Sunday morning. She wanted to hitchhike to her job, a children's home in Loccum. She was never seen again.''
