In which, in 1984, a paranoid man named Günther Stoll, Anzhausen, Germany, jots six letters on a paper, crosses it out, leaves his home and wife, disappears down the pub, goes missing, and two hours later is found, naked and dead, in his wrecked car, though the injuries he suffered were not sustained in the car crash. And then there's the part about him revisiting his childhood neighborhood just beforehand.

Wiki: YOGTZE case

The Lineup: YOGTZE-Fall: The Perplexing Death of Günther Stoll

Cracked: (#4 here is a rollicking account)

Are there any sleuths who are good at cracking codes on here at all.
Try YOGTZ6 instead

I have done a search on ancestry and no surnames like that but a few sounds like, similar, soundex ones. If he was writing in a hurry maybe he was trying to write a name:-
Yogts surname
