Is it even their fault if the BKA hadnt heard about his new claims? What I don't understand though is the Judge didnt originally think his evidence was needed so why did the prosecutor press so hard for his "evidence" to be included for it just be some new evidence. It is weird.

September 25, 2024. Wednesday, Day 31: It was the first time images of missing Madeleine have been screened in Brueckner’s ongoing trial on unconnected sex crimes. Today images & photos of the tragic tot were dramatically screened in Braunschweig court. They included the last snaps taken of Madeleine on her family’s fateful holiday to Praia da Luz. The footage was from an episode of the German equivalent of Crimewatch, which aired in June 2020. It also included a reconstruction of the night Madeleine vanished and an interview with her parents Kate & Gerry McCann, from Rothley, Leics. Brueckner sat with his hand covering his mouth & stared at the screen as it was played in court. His lawyer Friedrich Fuelscher had requested the episode was played to highlight inconsistencies in witness statements. The trial judge, Ute Engemann, has previously tried to avoid any mention of Madeleine in the trial. Witesses: Brueckner’s former cellmate [in 2020] Laurentiu Codin told a court today that the German confessed to abducting a child in Portugal. The next continuation date is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2024, @ 9am.

And nothing more so than the idea which has slipped into the narrative, that LC is a prosecution witness, to discuss aspects of the MM case which investigators from the German police, the British police and private detectives called to the stand by the defence refused to discuss.

All it tells me, yet again, is that the prosecuting left hand hasn't an effing clue what the right hand is doing.

the Bka are saying that yes he told them about the dna on the bones but that he didnt tell them anything about MM. I think the Judge did have it to hand from looking at the reports as she did seem to know about the bones part. None of it really makes sense.

Do you think that is who FF was trying to 'discredit' with this witness - the BKA detective working on behalf of law and order. In this particular instance actively involved in a missing child investigation.

Why would one place any reliance on an unknown quantity of a lawbreaker who will not admit what his offence and or offences are.

Just another defence deflection to draw this case out for as long as possible but one which has gone somewhat awry; particularly as the Romanian criminal has killed whatever point it was that HH intended to make using the video.

We have to expect that BKA investigators will interview many suspects and witnesses during their working lives.

Some will be eliminated from their enquiries. Some will merit further investigation.

LC was one whose information was noted after being eliminated.
CB is one who ticked investigative boxes which later led to indictments being taken out against him for sexual crimes.

That's the system.

Braunschweig - According to a psychiatric expert, the suspect in the Maddie case, Christian B., is in the "absolute top league of dangerousness". The application of various procedures leads to the result that the 47-year-old German is in the highest level of dangerousness, said the doctor in the Braunschweig regional court. The sex offender, who has several previous convictions, is accused of three rapes and two cases of sexual abuse of children, which he is said to have committed between 2000 and 2017 in Portugal.

The trial is attracting a lot of attention because the defendant is suspected of murder in the case of three-year-old Madeleine "Maddie" McCann, who disappeared from a Portuguese holiday resort in 2007. However, the Maddie case is not the subject of the current proceedings. The presumption of innocence applies. B. is currently serving a prison sentence for the rape of a 72-year-old American woman in Portugal, for which he was sentenced by the Braunschweig Regional Court in 2019.

According to established analysis procedures, almost 100 percent of comparable sex offenders have better prognoses than the defendant, said the expert. The probability that B. will be imprisoned in the next two years is 30 to 50 percent. The 47-year-old's defense attorneys emphasized several times during the trial that, in their view, the defendant should be acquitted of all charges. dpa

CB may have refused to speak under any circumstances in the Braunschweig court or to expert witnesses but he cannot circumvent the evidence which allows a diagnosis to be made.

Everything he did in the aggravated rape of DM from the level of violence through to the terror and degradation inflicted gives an indication of just how dangerous this man is even to the uninitiated. The survivor's account must ring klaxons of warning to an expert who deals with such human trash.

DM testified that CB enjoyed terrorising and humiliating her. She feared for her life and she suffered the physical and mental effects of what he did to her for the rest of her life.

One shudders at the thought that the Braunschweig court appears to have disregarded witness statements and displayed opinion which if followed to conclusion might see this highly dangerous offender freed to walk the streets again.
