I think that’s called a New York accent lol.

First, haven’t read the full thread but have a few disjointed comments, hahaha at a witness perfectly describing him as an ogre. That made me smirk. Second, WTF at his internet searches. Hang him for this alone.
Also yeesh at his beady-eyed selfies.

While he’s a big guy, he wasn’t chasing anyone through a marsh.

He was sure worried about his burner phone abuse being traced back to him, and while that helped sink him, it was his truck that actually led police to him.

Wow, I can’t believe this guy was finally caught. The evidence released is overwhelming.
I wouldn't discount him possibly running through a marsh. Threat of being caught is a powerful motivator. moo

Have they listed his height and weight on any of the documents? He appears nearly a head taller than most men with whom he's pictured.

Unfortunately killers are ordinary people which is an advantage to them, the only one that (IMO) stood out was Edmund Kemper (extremely tall)
This is an interesting article about Hannah Arendt, Eichmann’s trial and her famous quote regarding the banality of evil

I don't know. After reading that list of his recent Internet searches, I think he might have put some thought into that decision. At that fork in the road, it appears that he chose evil. MOO That's one twisted list of Internet searches. Wish I hadn't read it. (I did so before people began posting warnings.)

brazen or dumb? I feel like he must be missing a few braincells to discard a pizza box outside his office building
He must have had no suspicion he was being investigated. I wonder for how long after the discovery of the bodies he worried about being caught and was calculating his every move. After 13 years he must have felt safe.

Just another possibility for the belt initials being HM. I've seen variations of the Heuermann surname as Heuer Mann, and Heuer-Mann. In past research on surnames, I've noticed that usage can vary over time, even within the same family units.

I think the case against him looks quite strong, especially the DNA hits. But I don't believe the selfies were taken on any of the burner phones that were used in the murders. The phone they were taken on was listed in the bail letter under the heading 'Additional Burner Phones and Online Account Activity Linked to Defendant Heuerman.' It seems to have been used to setup his tinder profile, among other things.

I'm not sure there's anything in the bail letter that ties him directly to the burner phones used in the murders other than the very suggestive location/cell-tower evidence.
I'm not sure about that. Prosecutors said Rex Heuermann took selfies that he sent to help arrange sexual assignations.

Does anyone think that it's possible RH is responisble for ALL the Long Island serial killings and not just Gilgo beach?
I do wonder how many more there are.

"The families of some victims said the arrest of Mr. Heuermann made them feel optimistic that their loved ones’ cases would also be solved."

“I’m grateful for the hard work that has been done,” said Jasmine Robinson, a cousin of Jessica Taylor, a 20-year-old woman who had worked as an escort in New York. Some of her remains were found in 2003, soon after she went missing. More were found along Ocean Parkway around Gilgo Beach in early 2011."

“I’m grateful that today is happening,” Ms. Robinson said. “And I’m hopeful for the future."

"Later that year, they found the remains of Valerie Mack, a 24-year-old mother from southern New Jersey who had paid the bills as an escort and had been missing for 20 years. The remains of six other people — four women, one man and a 2-year-old girl who was the daughter of one of the women — were also unearthed in the months that followed. Those six deaths remain unsolved.
The work is not done, but this is a major, major step forward,” said Steve Bellone, the Suffolk County executive."

What I am going to find very interesting is if this belt ends up being a belt from the family (grandfather). If it is, why wouldn't anyone have recognized it and why wouldn't anyone have stepped forward with this information? You will not convince me that this family who lives right there in that area did keep up with the information on this case. Heck, we know that this guy googled this case and the victims hundreds of times; and he claims to be innocent...

JMO.
I have family all over in the area I live. I wouldnt know who inherited what from loved ones. If a belt was found with the initials that happened to be the same as a relative of mine, that wouldn't be enough for me to suspect a family member. Even the community was surprised with this guy. Some commented he's married, two kids, architect, average guy, quiet, family man....

A baby is a victim.
Her mother is Peaches.
Peaches torso was found in Hempstead state park in 1997.
The rest of her remains was found on Ocean Pkwy 14 yrs later.
The toddler was found on Ocean Pkwy too.
She was in the bushes for 14 yrs.

I do too and I hope that it's still being actively worked on to give the other victims their names back. It must be agonising to not know what happened to your loved one.

They waited 11 years to run a search through the database of the car identified by witnesses.
Credit to the new task force formed in January, they identified him by that car in March.
To quote my mom, "you'll amaze yourself at what you can get done in a day."

Kudos to the re-vamped team who took this investigation on.

The burlap sack at exit 40 in West Islip. I am uncertain if ya'll know where that really is, in relation to Massapequa, the parkway exit and where that exit leads to...that is the Gilgo Beach exit.

Unsure what's to come of this. And I do tend to believe the 25 yr old young woman from Brady Park, I mean she saw him multiple times, his body frame would be difficult to misidentify, and it matches his "always moseying around" behavior. Long Island woman, 25, reveals recent disturbing encounter with Gilgo Beach serial killings suspect Rex Heuermann

Re: Brady Park - Maybe he made a mistake and went back, maybe he went back to commemorate, we don't know. They should check out that area as he lives so close to the park. If they find heavily dirty clothes...

I'm suspecting that his wife is out of town and he had arranged to meet someone last night ergo the arrest while at work in the interest of public safety.
His wife showed up at court yesterday so if she was out of town, it wasn't far. But I bet something was brewing that disturbed LE enough to arrest him after work. Good thinking.

Oh indeed he did put great thought into it. I knew a man somewhat like him. Not quite. He explained to me after many years I’m a really nice guy. But when I want to win I will cheat lie beat and maybe kill to get what I want. Then I go back to being a really good person. So yes. Banal. But no conscience. And that is petrifying. The police , the good ones, work on the side of the angels. They found him. And as a policeman stated at the press conference, it made them very nervous that he was still frequenting prostitutes. That must be the understatement of the century. Godspeed police and FBI, on to the next one.
