I'd be suspicious if I was told to "...not come and look at her body...."
Even if I couldn't handle it.. I'd want a forensic specialist to take a clear look for signs of foul play. Just saying.

My condolences for her loved ones. She was very young !
And if it was suicide... how sad that at her age , she felt like there was no hope left. :(

Had the SAME thought. Fishy.

Mystery of Instagram model’s suicide on billionaire’s yacht
"According to published reports, Aussie stunner Sinead McNamara, 20, hanged herself shortly after describing to her mother, Kylie, about an incident with a crew member on the Mayan Queen IV."

“The deceased had telephoned her mother and brother shortly before the unfortunate incident under investigation. She was crying and referred to an incident that took place on the yacht with another crew member.”

So far, Greek cops believe her death was a suicide and crew members blamed her death on a bad break up.

Coroner Elias Boyiokas said examinations showed "no visible signs of struggle or physical abuse" but that marks left by a rope were found on the girl's neck.
"It is not yet possible to say if she was psychologically pushed to act or was under the influence of drugs at the time," Boyiokas said, adding that toxicology test results would "probably take at least some weeks."

Sinead McNamara: Australian Instagram influencer died by hanging - CNN

Bolded by me. why was the family told that it was so bad that it was better not to see her?

It is unclear what type of work Ms McNamara was doing on the yacht. She had been promoting swimwear, underwear and skincare brands to her 14,000 Instagram followers over the last year while travelling to some of the world's most exclusive resorts. "

Not directly relevant to this matter, but 14,000 followers is pretty small in "social media influencing" terms. 50,000 followers is about the minimum for brands to start to take notice and send a few freebies. 250,000 is apparently the rough threshold for breaking into the big time for major sponsorship such as trips to exotic resorts and so on.

It seems that the photos posted in the Article below are part of her Instagram Modeling.
That doesn't mean that she was not a legit member of the crew.
The two could be completely separate.

Agreed. As I posted a few minutes ago, Sinead did not have enough followers to attract the sort of sponsorship which would lead brands to pay for exotic trips. A working holiday of this sort would allow her to present the illusion that she was more significant than she really was in social media terms. This could well attract more followers which in turn would lead to her becoming more attractive to major sponsors. Pretend to live the lifestyle in order to attract the lifestyle she aspired to.

Do we know what type of work Sinead has been hired for? Was this a heavy labor job, a nanny, server, or?
The details of the disagreement/breakup with a crew member seem to be the most important aspect to this case. Given the circumstances, I would not be satisfied with the explanation, and would press for a murder investigation. Was she raped and then silenced? Was she pregnant and silenced? Was there involvement with a married man?
Many questions and few answers.
What little has been told is unsatisfactory, and this young woman’s life should not be dismissed so easily.

I read (in an early report) that she was a steward

She had worked her final shift as a stewardess onboard the six-storey yacht and was due to meet her mother and sister the following day after they had flown from Australia especially to see her.

Superyacht hostesses reveal 'dark side' of working on billionaires' luxury boats
"Before her emotional phone call , it is thought Sinead had been enjoying her work as a stewardess on the superyacht owned by Mexican billionaire Albert Bailleres.

He was not on board when Sinead was found at the back of the boat.

The young woman's mother and sister, Lauren Carr, were en route to Kefalonia from their home in Australia when she died. They had been due to meet her the following day."

I wonder if the mom was heading there for vacation or because something was obviously wrong?

Btw, I agree with the poster upthread we shouldn’t jump to negative conclusions about the ship owner.

Also agree that the owner of the ship had nothing to do with this tragedy.
It might be said that " when the cat is away, the mice will play", imo, speculation.

Dunno what to think. She'd been on the yacht for a few months and supposely had been having a relationship with another crew member which broke up just before she was due to leave her job anyway. How likely is it that she would kill herself over the end of a short relationship like that?

The thought crossed my mind that the real relationship that ended might have been with a member of the owner's family, and that she had believed the relationship to be much more serious than the other party did. She finds herself suddenly expendible and not on her way to an opulent lifestyle. Might she kill herself over that?

I don't think the relationship was with a crew member. JMO
Originally it was said that a crew member was commiserating with her and she was going through a bad breakup.
It is certainly possible that it was with someone closer to the owner. JMO

I read that it was to be a trip of a lifetime, so I would say a happy holiday situation

Well then, I find it even more unlikely she would have committed suicide with her Mom en route. Not out of the question, but unlikely. Very suspicious in my opinion.

Yes, I agree, it sounds unusual
Having said that, there is not a lot of rational thought when contemplating suicide.

If she was murdered, if she fell accidentally, if she committed suicide, I am hoping it is clear on the CCTV

Why I am thinking we will learn that the camera in question was “broken” or inoperable....

We’ll see. Highly suspect IMO.
Need more details.

It wouldn't be the first time we have heard that.
However, they are calling it "a key part of the police investigation.
I am hoping we would know by now if it wasn't working.
And if that is the case , it isn't going to be a key part of anything

They have her phone.
And are going through photos and messages.
I am absolutely certain they know who she was involved with.
I am sure there is a wealth of information on it

Officers are also reviewing photographs and messages found on her phone after some crew members told police that Ms McNamara was struggling with a bad breakup, according to local media reports on Tuesday.

We know for sure the phone is working
