I cannot believe the guards were not prepared to stop the helicoptor from taking off with him. Unarmed guards? WTH?

Since when does a jail or prison have unarmed guards?

It must have taken a little time to grind open the door. Seems guards would have had enough time to stop this if they had been armed.

To the Visitor room, brother happens to be visiting
Whisk the poetic convict away on foot to take off while the guards just standby to watch in amazement
Ditch the heli and pilot safely
Ditch the vehicle successfully
Done-mission accomplished

Was there no sound alarm or communication signal system that could quickly be activated?
No backup assistance to aim shots for pausing the heli?
Air space control?
Or was it an inside gig, or is it just Paris or just this prison?

It doesn’t point to the brother as an accomplice. Maybe he was a frequent visitor they could count on enough to center the plan around.

His movie career’s secondary education to thank.
