Some good news on our end, we called the landlord, he is going to stop by in an hour to board up our windows.

Glad we made that call - just want to play it safe, because some of our neighbor apartments are boarding up too (each one is individually owned)

Is there any precedent for Irma shooting the narrows between Cuba and Florida and just keeping on going into the Gulf? If so, with the storm having the width of the Gulf and its shallow warm waters to cross, this could be a very different situation.

I am no meteorologist - Cuba has the Sierra del Rosario and Sierra de los Organos range in the northwest, I imagine if FL had a mountain range bordering its southern edges Irma probably would go through. I was reading about the alluvium makeup of FL last night - pretty interesting stuff. Used to read a lot about geology when I was younger - it fascinated me, mainly in part due to my fondness for minerals and crystals.

I was born here , much to parents dispair ha! My motner lives right there on the beach -- she went to my sisters in Boca.

But then I got email from stepwitch that is confusing a bunch of em going somewhere older sister went to ny to visit her kids for fun

And stepwitch described having like everyones dogs and the husbands mother is going with them but i was too tired to email back

my father is NOT repeat NOT a dog person "They are a huge responsibilty" trust me he feels the same about me !

Then I got an email yesterday from older sister who said we are tightening things up they have money - no matter what people say like Cyndi Laudper says Money Changes Everything "

If all there houses blew away it would be a hassle thats it they would go somewhere a rent a fab houses somewhere , insurance filing would be done but no urgency to it

I remember I think Wilma when I talked to her she was talking about oi vey we lost two ceramic tiles -- that is a big deal they had two ceramic tile men on the roof already big deal

Charlie was suppossed to landfall there and I dont remember exact but there is sometihing serious in tampa as it relates to storn searge ( not dealing with spell check!) and the Bays etc

We live on a back bay across from a barrier island and suffered storm surge from Sandy. Irma is going to do the same thing but with more force. I feel like it could flood everything all the way east to I-75 from Marco Island to Tampa.

Thank you. Fond memories of walking Naples Pier on Christmas Day. The homes and shops in the area are beautiful. This could be devastating.

After I replied I realized how late it was. It was 18+ hrs this morning so I guess it is probably 11+ now? But then it is moving at a snails pace so who knows.

It should hit Key West tonight if I recall. We have been following this for days and days and days I am getting confused. Lol

I've been watching this dashboard, but on silent because the media people don't keep your u calm, they get you upset. Anyway, I unmuted because the reporter looked all scared and I wanted to find out where he was, and just then he said "rain hammer", which made me laugh. Also though, his high anxiety was laughable because just as he was talking about how dangerous it was there (wherever he is) already, a girl in shorts jogged by and you could see a family with their dog in the background. Drama kings. Ugh
