It has been nearly six months since Jesse Leopold was last seen leaving his place of employment in Jewell, and despite numerous rumors floating around social media, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office is still hitting walls in their search for the now 24-year-old Boone man.
On Oct. 13, Leopold reportedly told his supervisor he was going to go get his medicine just before his lunch break at approximately 6:30 p.m. that night. Two days later, after learning from Leopold’s roommates that he had not been seen since he left work, his father Jerry Leopold posted a plea on Facebook, asking for help in finding his son.
The following morning, when Jesse’s purple, three-quarter-ton Ford pickup truck was found on Canyon Road in Ledges State Park, unlocked and with the keys in it, Jerry reported him missing, and he said that his son always locked his truck.
Since then, efforts by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and by Jerry Leopold and those who have volunteered to help locate Jesse have not turned up a single significant lead.
