FARNHAMVILLE, Iowa —
A Gowrie man is charged with abuse of a corpse – failure to disclose known location in connection to the homicide of a 17-year-old girl in Farnhamville.

Tuesday, Sept. 24th:
*Initial Appearance Hearing (@ am ET) - IA - Jane Doe (17) missing Sept. 22, 2024 & found Sept. 23, 2024 in Gowrie. *Nathaniel Kyven Bevers-McGivney (21) arrested & charged (9/23/24) with abuse of corpse-failing to disclose known location [Class D felony]. Calhoun County).
Case info: A criminal complaint says the victim, identified only as Jane Doe, was reported missing by her mom just before 11 p.m. Sunday, 9/22/24. According to court documents, the victim's sister & mom went looking for her Sunday night & ran into Bevers-McGivney, who authorities say was covered in blood & had the missing girl's scooter & other personal items. When law enforcement inquired about the blood, Bevers-McGivney requested a lawyer. Police say they found the teen's body shortly after 9 a.m. Monday morning, in a place they say, suggests Bevers-McGivney intentionally hid her body to conceal a crime. The criminal complaint also notes Bevers-McGivney failed to tell authorities where the victim's body was. Bevers-McGivney will likely make his first court appearance Tuesday morning.

His DOB on the court website lists 2003, so he would have been 8/9 in 2012.

ah thank you my math still wasn't mathing lol. so if 8 or 9 perhaps issues with parents having CPS or other legal issues caused a guardianship to take place. I am curious to hear his motivations in Killing Luna, was it robbery, did he know her, or random encounter, etc.

New poster, long time lurker. I’ve always appreciated the insight here. I am also curious of his motivation to killing Luna. It says he is from Gowrie IA which is only 9 miles away from Farnhamville. I am wondering if Luna was developmentally disabled in someway as her obituary stated that she loved to swing at the park. Others have posted about decorating her favorite swing at the park. If so, it makes this crime so much more heinous.
