Posting guidelines:

* We do not sleuth or accuse people who have not been named by LE as suspects or POI's.

* Do not link to social networking pages of people who have not been named by LE as suspects/POI. The few exceptions are victims' pages, LE and MSM pages.

* Questions about the rules or mod decisions should be addressed to a mod in a private message. DO NOT discuss them in the thread.

* If you see a post that violates TOS, please do not reply to it. Alert the post ASAP.

* If you quote a post which later is removed by a mod, your post is subject to removal, as well.

*Websleuths is a fact based site. Provide a MSM link for your assertions. Rumors are not allowed. Sites such as reddit or sub-reddit are not approved to be linked, referenced or discussed.

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to welcome our many new members to Websleuths. Please remember Websleuths is not like the other discussion forums. We are heavily moderated. Our goal is to stay on topic, not tear apart innocent people, and see what we can come up with looking at the evidence presented to the public by the mainstream media or law enforcement.

Here is a link to our rules. The Rules

This means you cannot randomly accuse someone of killing Mollie.

You cannot link to other sources like random YouTube videos or Facebook pages and post information from these places.

WC are initials of the pig farmer who has been brought in for questioning and had his property searched in connection with Mollie's disappearance. Police have not named him as a person of interest.

In a situation like this where a person has not been named a suspect but the police appear to be interested in him, we only allow the initials of the person to be used
This does not mean you can discuss anyone else. You can't start using Mollie's boyfriend's initials and then you post you think he may have been involved. We are doing this with WC only. Keep in mind each case is different. What we allow in another case on Websleuths does not mean we will allow the same type of discussion in Mollie's case.

As far as WC, one of our media sources that we have given the OK to use is Heavy.com

Heavy.com has provided a WC Five Fast Facts You Need to Know.

If you want to discuss what Heavy.com has provided you must use only the initials WC.

Please, do not outright accuse WC of taking Mollie, no remarks about looks, clothing, or any other insults.

The media frenzy surrounding Mollie's case is jaw-dropping and the story keeps getting bigger and bigger. As this happens sometimes the facts become lost and rumors take over.

Please stick to the facts of the case.

Thanks, everyone,
Tricia

Admin note: No sleuthing of the victim's family members or WC's family members is allowed. Do not post family background, professional background, relationships or anything else about those related to them.

Just a tidbit from Mollie's father's interview with Shep Smith on Fox News earlier. He asked social media companies to set aside privacy concerns to aid in further developing Mollie's social media footprint. Yes, subpoenas can be served, but it's a lot easier if these companies do it on their own, and perhaps go a bit further than simply providing data on Mollie alone.

PLEASE, NO DISCUSSION ABOUT ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN CLEARED INCLUDING MOLLIE'S FAMILY!!

IF YOU SEE SOMEONE POST AND ACCUSE OR TAP DANCE AROUND ACCUSING SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN CLEARED ALERT ON THE POST. DO NOT QUOTE THE POST. IT MAKES SO MUCH WORK FOR THE MODS.

THANK YOU AND YES I AM DONE YELLING.

Love,
Tricia

Does anyone know if they caught the vandals of the true value hardware store? What that entailed? In a small town these things just don’t happen. Burglaries and vandals get caught as small towns are full of friends and family and close knit usually. Vandals are trouble makers and could this be linked? I’d like to know I’d that true value was ever vandalized before or anything in town leading up to the disappearance in terms of criminal activity. Robberies, houses being broke into, vandalism. Ragbrai wasn’t too far from this area either. How many ragbrai people stayed in the neighborhoods of Brooklyn? This seems like somethjng investigators should be asking. These people come from all over the state and out of state.

You have to have a suspected crime to attach a search warrant to. Just cant get them on a whim. It has to contain not only the address and property description and curtilage, the requesting officer has to say in a supporting affidavit why he wants to search the property and what they are looking for and why that location is relevant.

Some judges or magistrates require a more detailed affidavit than others. I have seen them two sentences long and I have seen them five pages long. If reporters know where to look, they could ask the appropriate court clerk to see any search warrant "returns." It's not clear if the Southern District of Iowa or the county is the issuing jurisdiction. Persons with ownership or control over property searched usually receive a copy of the warrant so if warrants were served at locations in or near Brooklyn, there would be copies available if the recipients chose to disclose them. I would imagine any warrants returned to the issuing court have been sealed.

... or the burglary call on July 16th, which was on the same street as Mollie's BF house, and only just up the road.

I’ve been waiting to be able to post on here. But my theory for the past couple of days is that she asked a friend for a ride to get her car from her moms (don’t know who that could be, maybe someone she only has contact with, that nobody knows about). Maybe something occurred during their drive and the person did something or took her somewhere else. If they don’t know for sure that she was out running and know for sure that nothing happened in the house. My thoughts are she left voluntarily, she left to go to work and was approached, she asked for a ride, or she opened the door to someone she knew and they took her.

Are we allowed to call him the pig farmer? I will switch to calling him WC if not.

Just a thought... some seemed to find the father’s comments as odd. With his gut feeling that she was being held by someone she knew and all. Is it possible the FBI coached him on what to say? Trying to make the culprit believe they weren’t on to him and buy Mollie more time? If they do have a suspect or POI, and he didnt know Mollie prior, it might cause him to relax about being caught immediately and causing him to do something rash. Even more rash tan abduction, I should say. MMO
