Suspicious black SUV circled neighborhood on night Mollie Tibbetts vanished, neighbor says

A black SUV was seen circling the Iowa neighborhood where Mollie Tibbetts was staying on the night she vanished, a neighbor revealed to Fox News on Sunday, in what could be a new clue to the college student's disappearance.

The driver went very slowly around the neighborhood the night of July 18, according to a young woman who lives a block away from the home of Tibbetts' boyfriend, Dalton Jack.

Between 11:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., the woman said she observed the suspicious vehicle. She told Fox News that she reported it to the FBI when she was questioned.

Mollie Tibbetts went missing three weeks ago. Here's how her family is trying to cope

The days since Mollie disappeared have been chaotic, Calderwood said. She tries to begin each day with some structure, to help maintain a sense of normalcy for her two sons. She makes breakfast for Jake, a 21-year-old University of Iowa student, and Scott, a 17-year-old high school senior.

But the rest of her day has little to no structure.

Her phone lights up with about 30 to 40 phone calls and text messages a day -- from the FBI and state authorities, from friends and family, from the media.

Reward for missing Iowa jogger Mollie Tibbetts at $260,000, breaking record

The reward for information about missing Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts is now $260,000, breaking a record in that part of the state.

The 20-year-old University of Iowa student disappeared on July 18 after going for a jog, and the search remains in full force.

The reward has been steadily increasing over the past days and weeks, and its expected to go up again today after the donations from over the weekend are added.

Greg Willey, the vice president for public relations for Crimestoppers of Central Iowa, which is coordinating the reward, said that this is the highest in the group's history.

"We don't have these types of things happen too often," Willey told ABC News of such disappearances and their ensuing rewards.

Fox News Video (Includes interview with Mollie's father) Twitter

Mollie Tibbett's father believes his daughter is alive somewhere being held against her will and is urging anyone with information to come forward. He says he believes Mollie might have gotten into a car willingly and that the person she got into a car with perhaps misinterpreted their relationship and then made a horrible mistake.

Mollies father says, "The longer we go without finding Mollie um, the longer we go without finding Mollie's body, the more hopeful we are that she's alive somewhere um, and going through something that she can survive."

Mollie Tibbetts' dad: I believe she's still alive, and with somebody she knows

"It's totally speculation on my part, but I think Mollie is with someone that she knows, that is in over their head," Rob Tibbetts said. "That there was some kind of misunderstanding about the nature of their relationship and at this point they don't know how to get out from under this."

Tibbetts added that he believes Mollie and whoever is with her "don't know how to resolve this," but encouraged anyone with information "to come forward and bring Mollie home."

Coworkers of Mollie Tibbetts surprised by disappearance

Local 5 spoke to employees at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center Day Camp, who say Mollie's disappearance didn't raise any alarms at first.

"It's not uncommon if someone is sick and maybe they forgot to phone in so we weren't too concerned that morning," said Jarrett Rose, a worker at the camp.

Ex-FBI agent: Tibbetts investigation will likely have to scale back

Local 5 wanted to know, from the experts, what are law enforcement doing right now to find her, and when does it reach a point when the investigation will scale back? We spoke to Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent.

"If you're still having this conversation a month from now, sadly, law enforcement will get smaller to justify the leads that are in this case," said Garrett.

Missing Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts' father says not too late for abductor to return her

One of Mollie's brothers joked the family would make her watch each interview they had done with reporters “back to back,” Rob said. Chuckling, her high school sweetheart, Dalton Jack, said they would slap the magnets displaying her face on her car and have her wear the T-shirts that warn “MISSING” in large red letters.

“And go pull every one of those flyers out of every store in the state of Iowa,” Rob added.

As FBI forensic experts sift through data from Mollie's digital footprint, Rob described his family as convinced someone in a small community such as Brooklyn must know something. He called on anyone suspicious of a loved one, a family or friend acting unusual, to come forward, saying if they have nothing to hide, they have nothing to fear.
