"Wright said that cell tower activity from T-Mobile put Gordon's smartphone within 100 meters of Trinity United Methodist Church, 301 Fairbanks Ave. in Joliet, around 11:20 p.m. on May 29. The church is 2.2 miles away from the Ruby Street building, on east side of Joliet in a residential neighborhood.

Then, more than three hours, T-Mobile records show that Gordon's phone pinged within a 300-meter radius of the St. John's Cemetery around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 30. The cemetery is directly across the street from the building where Gordon was last seen."

Very strange.

Missing Harley Rider Carl Gordon: Joliet's Ruby St. Stays Focus

Carl Gordon vanished without a trace after visiting a Joliet building on Ruby Street to get his new Harley Davidson motorcycle repaired on Friday, May 29, according to Gia Wright, president and founder of the Missing Persons Awareness Network.

•no activity on his credit cards and bank accounts since Friday, May 29, in which it was used to purchase pizza.
•Gordon's phone pinged within a 300-meter radius of the St. John's Cemetery around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 30.
•The cemetery is directly across the street from the building where Gordon was last known to visit.
•he is familiar with Joliet
•Gordon's mother believes he has been to Joliet five to seven times all related to his motorcycle.

Wright believes there are two likely scenarios of what may have happened.

-One is that he crashed his motorcycle during the two-hour ride back to Belvidere on the night he disappeared.

-The other scenario, Wright said, is that he may have met foul play in Joliet.

People in the Ruby Street area or Fairbanks Avenue areas of Joliet who may still have Ring, business or residential video surveillance cameras should check and see if they have still any activity from the night of May 29 or overnight Saturday, May 30.

Gordon's investigation is classified as an endangered missing person case, Wright said.

"I'm definitely hoping that the case gets transferred to either the Joliet Police Department or the Will County Sheriff's Department because that's where he was last seen," Wright told Joliet Patch on Tuesday. "His credit card and the pings from his phone, that's all Joliet."

On Tuesday morning, Joliet Patch called the Joliet Police Department inquiring what the agency is doing to find Gordon, who has been missing for almost two weeks.

Joliet officer Olin Torkelson responded to Patch's inquiry in an email statement.

"The case is under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff's Office; they are the lead agency, as that's where the report was filed," Torkelson advised. "The Joliet Police Investigations Division is assisting Boone County with their investigation, but all media inquires about this case should be referred to Boone County, as they would be able to provide you with the best information on their case. At this time JPD is not issuing a press release either, as it is not our investigation."

5-7 trips (according to his mother) to Joliet for his NEW Harley motorcycle? Was he having some special customized work or upgrades done to his bike? Was his new Harley a total lemon? 5-7 trips seems excessive. Was this the sole purpose for his trips 1.5 hours to Joliet? At first I thought the distance was insane because there are closer places to have a motorcycle serviced, but if he purchased the bike from this place in Joliet, (which it seems he has) it would make sense that the warranty would make any fixes free of charge and require him to bring the bike to that location to be worked on. But I'm still left wondering why a buyer would drive 3 hours round trip SEVEN times. Just makes me wonder if the trips weren't always for the bike or if there were other motivations in addition to having the bike worked on and those other motivations (or any people involved with that) may be involved in his disappearance?

An accident and being out of view is also possible, imo. Interstate 90 would be the fastest route home to Belvidere and after he would be a ways outside the NW burbs, that area is pretty empty (just fields/land etc) Though perhaps as a motorcycle rider he preferred to take off the beaten path routes, but I imagine those routes are the same (in terms of being open spaces/farmland etc) Would be easy to have a wreck and not be seen imo.

But the very late timing of the phone pings really worries me. Did he have a habit of staying out extremely late after having his bike serviced?

Here is an article from the 14th about a body being found in Windsor lake in Loves Park (appx 25 mins from Belvidere according to google maps) But it said the body was found in "advanced stages of decomposition" so I'm not sure if that aligns with the date Carl went missing.

Belvidere family opens up after one week with no sign of missing father

Heartbreaking...this family is missing their loved one. I hope there are answers soon!

“It’s tragic…this situation is tragic,” explained Carl Gordon Jr on the disappearance of his father.

Carl Gordon Jr. is struggling to cope. The last time they saw each other, they were enjoying a family Bar-B-Que.

““I feel like it’s not real in my heart I feel like my dad is not gone,” he added. “I love my dad. I adore my dad so much and I know that he would never just leave like this, you know, disappear for so long.”

The family had planned a vacation to Wisconsin Dells and hope they will be reunited again so they can follow through on the vacation.

“If we don’t find him its just I don’t know my sisters will do without my dad I don’t know what I would do without my dad,” Carl Jr. said.

Attempt to Locate

They had a search party formed to go out yesterday Sun June 14. I have not seen anything on how it went yet.
The search party met at St John Cemetery in Joliet.

Oh no. Definitely the opposite direction of home to Belvidere, that's for sure.

Incredibly sad. I hope they find whoever did this. Keeping the Gordon family in my prayers.

Rockford Area Man Who Went Missing Was Murdered

A 35-year-old man from the Rockford area was missing since May 29, and now authorities say his body has been found in the Little Calumet River in Blue Island — and he was murdered.

Cause of death for Carl Gordon: multiple gunshot wounds, a homicide.

Was this because someone wanted his motor cycle?

Whatever it was, it doesn't make sense to me because prices increase the closer one gets to the Chicagoland area, which includes Joliet. Belvidere is part of the Rockford area.

Whatever it is, I just hope it is solved quickly. Praying this isn't another murder that remains on the books.
