Police in Illinois and Indiana Tuesday sought a gunman who shot three people, killing one, after asking them about honey bees.

Lake County (Ind.) Sheriff Roy Dominguez described the man as white, 30 to 40 years old, with brown hair and wearing a baseball hat. He was seen driving an older model white or bluish grey pickup truck north on Cline Avenue in Lowell, Ind.

Dominguez said that the Tri-Creek School Corp., which serves Lowell, is under lockdown this afternoon.

:eek:What the heck?

Hopefully they find this guy real soon.

Police released a sketch of the suspect Tuesday evening. He is described as a white male, around 40 years old, 5' 8" and 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light green windbreaker, jeans, work boots and a ball cap. He may be driving a light-colored pickup truck.

The man is described as disheveled and heavyset and appeared to be in his 40s, wearing a green windbreaker and driving a 1990s-model Chevy pickup. Officials worried about more violence to come if he wasn't captured.

The prospect of a gunman at large in the rural borderland between Illinois and Indiana sent shockwaves through the small towns there, where schools were put on lockdown, farmers kept an anxious ear to the radio and even a beekeeper debated whether to call police before going out on calls.

He's a COP!

(CNN) -- A police officer was arrested Friday in Will County, Illinois, in connection with a two-state rural shooting rampage south of Chicago that left one man dead and three others wounded earlier this week, authorities said.

The suspect was identified as Brian E. Dorian, 37, of Crete, Illinois, an officer with the Lynwood Police Department. Dorian was being held on a probable cause warrant, and bail was set at $2.5 million, said Charles Pelkie, a spokesman for the Will County state's attorney's office.

I am soooo curious about this. We haven't heard any thing to say it's the guy, but what cop in their right mind would arrest another cop without being 1000% certain?? With a 2.5 mill bond no less. Now his father is saying no way not my kid. What in the WORLD?!

WOW. I definitely didn't expect it to be a cop. Regardless, I'm glad this creep is off the streets now.

Apparently he was arrested, released and rearrested

He wrote on his Facebook page "“Holy crap!! I got pulled over in Schererville and ordered out at gunpoint because I matched this lunatic’s description,” Dorian posted about being pulled over Tuesday. “I definitely(sic) don't like being on the other side of gun barrels being pointed at me!”

Interesting stuff here:

Dorian was charged in January 2008 with speeding in a fatal crash that claimed the life of 17-year-old Dylan Drapeau in June 2006. Drapeau’s family and friends had pushed for a reckless homicide charge. ....An Illinois State Police crash reconstruction report concluded Dorian was traveling between 83 mph and 100 mph – well above the 55-mph speed limit – at the time his GMC truck crashed into Dylan's car.

Also "Lynwood Police Deputy Chief Greg Szymanski said Dorian has been with the department since 2005 but that he has been on medical leave for a shoulder injury since October 2009."

Also, note that "One neighbor said Dorian told her he occasionally got threatening letters in connection with the 2006 crash that killed Dylan Drapeau. "

I wonder if the guilt about the crash made him go off of the deep end?

Dylan Drapeau parents are convinced that there was a coverup by the police after Dorian killed their son. In fact they claim that they were "not initially told Dorian was a police officer". This statement comes from this article:

In fact, I found a cached version of an old newpaper article reporting Dylan's Death. It is not only interesting WHAT is written but HOW it is written. It seems to be very much on the side of Dorian AND it does not mention that Dorian is a cop, even though there are quotes from Crete Police Sgt. Andrew Wegmann:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...r-old+Brian+Dorian,"&cd=7&hl=lt&ct=clnk&gl=lt

Drapeau, who was headed towards home at 8:51 p.m., was driving a Ford Focus that had stopped at a stop sign at the corner of Richton Road and I-394 and was westbound crossing the roadway when a northbound GMC pickup truck that had the right of way slammed into the driver's side of the Focus, said Crete Police Sgt. Andrew Wegmann. Drapeau had to be extricated from the Focus, said Wegmann.

The truck's driver, 32-year-old Brian Dorian, who was also driving towards his Lansing home, did not have a stop sign and had the right of way, said Wegmann.

Now all of this must have been reported just a few hours after the boy's death, before police could find and discuss with witnesses or conduct a real investigation.

Later on an investigation was done and it turned out that Dorian was traveling well above the posted speed limit and that there was at least one and possibly several eyewitnesses who said that the boy's car was stopped when Dorian hit him.

Wow, I feel for all the families involved. I hope if this man is guilty, that the police department will not try to cover anything up! Very strange, all the way around!

Not sure if this will work or not, but lets try.

Witnesses to the Honey-bee murders said "The gunman then drove away in a light-blue Chevrolet Cheyenne pickup truck with Indiana license plates. "

Here you can see Dorian's house. Parked in front is his police cruzer and a light blue pickup truck (click birds eye view and look around a bit)
