Smith is described as a 5-foot-8 black woman weighing 115 pounds with black hair with red tips. She was last seen wearing a multicolored floral dress, police said.

"A West Side mother is pleading for help finding her missing daughter. There are fears her disappearance may be linked to others.

Latonya Moore’s daughter, 26-year-old Shantieya Smith, has been missing for more than a week.

Smith was last seen May 26 near West 16th Street and South Central Park Avenue.
Moore said her daughter, who also goes by the nickname Nay Nay, was last seen with a man who has now changed his phone number and is not responding to Facebook messages. But he did send a text message to Smith through her goddaughter and threatened her, Smith said.

Moore has also reached out for help from community activists, who are raising a red flag about other young women from the city’s West Side that have now gone missing since mid-March. Anna Stanislawczyk, 18, was last seen in the 3600 block of West Filmore Street on March 16. Sadaria Davis, 15, went missing April 27 from the 4200 block of West Adams Street; she was found dead May 11 in an abandoned building six blocks from her home."

A Chicago pastor and West Side mother are seeking help finding young women and teen girls who have recently gone missing in the city.

The duo, like many on the West Side, are wondering whether the cases could be linked.

Since March, at least four women and girls have gone missing: Sadaria Davis, 15; Shantieya Smith, 26; Victoria Garrett, 15; and Anna Stanislawczyk, 18. Davis was found dead in an abandoned building May 11. The other three are still missing.

A body was found in a garage Thursday night just a short distance from where a young woman disappeared nearly two weeks ago on the West Side.

This all comes amid growing concerns over other missing persons’ cases in the area.

There is no word from investigators on whether the body found is the woman who's been missing for a week and a half. The body was found in an abandoned garage near 18th and South Central Park, which is two blocks away from where 26-year-old Shantieya Smith went missing.

CHICAGO -- The family of a woman who has been missing since last month is still waiting for answers after police found a body in a garage Thursday. They are still waiting to hear from the medical examiner whether that body is 26-year-old Shantieya Smith.

Investigators found a body underneath a car in a garage in the 1800 block of South Central Park Avenue. Witnesses said it was badly decomposed but had red hair, like Smith.

Because of the decompisition, medical examiner have to identify it scientifically, either through dental X-Rays, fingerprints or DNA.

Relatives: Death of missing woman found in Lawndale garage may be connected to others

At a vigil Wednesday afternoon, relatives of a missing woman found dead in a garage called for police to take a closer look at the case, and said her death may be connected to others.

Chicago police said Smith's death is being investigated in connection with the death of 15-year-old Sadaria Davis, who was also found dead in an abandoned structure on the West Side.

Chicago police are trying to calm a west side community on edge and quash once and for all fake claims on social media involving the deaths of a teen and a woman.

Chicago police say the rumors on social media lead to hundreds of tips that are based off false information. Police still have to look into the tips, which the superintendent says takes away from what they should be doing.

The fears have created what the Chicago police superintendent calls a “social media frenzy."

Rumors of a serial killer on the loose, the girls are being trafficked for their organs and some are still missing -- police say all of those claims are incorrect and unfounded.

Chicago Police Clear Up Rumors Surrounding Missing Women
“If there was a hint of a pattern of a serial kidnapper, whatever you want to call him out there, trust me, we would be on that in a moment’s notice. Of the six cases, only two of them are related,” Supt. Eddie Johnson stated.
Johnson apologized to the community and the family of Shanteiya Smith for a comment he made yesterday saying both women were involved with drugs and prostitution.
Detectives from the Chicago Police Department are on their way to Tennessee to question the person of interest, but since the deaths of the two females have not officially been ruled as homicides, the suspect is not required to talk with police.

Threatening Text Sent to Mother Whose Daughter Was Murdered

“Enjoy yo time and days becuz they will be cut short. Your days r on a countdown so enjoy ur time and days.” Moore says 24-year-old Booker taunted her sending more texts including “make sure you save all these message so somebody can give it to police.”

Sadaria Davis was also last seen with Charlie Booker on April 27. The 15-year-olds’ body was later discovered in an abandoned apartment May 11. Her family says she too was last seen with Booker.

Deaths of woman, teen girl ruled homicides, possibly connected to suspect in other attacks

Authorities investigating the homicides earlier this year of a woman and a 15-year-old girl in Chicago want to question a man being held in Cook County Jail on charges related to attacks on two others.

Shantieya Smith, 26, and Sadaria Davis, 15, were found dead on the West Side earlier this year — Davis in May and Smith in June. The cause and manner of death for both were initially undetermined by the Cook County medical examiner’s office, pending results of toxicology tests and further examination.

Mothers suspect same man involved in daughters’ unsolved murders

Davis and Moore share not only the pain of losing a daughter, but also believe the same man may have had a hand in their daughters' disappearances.

"It’s too much information against him in regards to all of these matters for him not be to charged with anything yet," Davis said.

Chicago man wanted in Tennessee for attempted murder

Chicago police had issued an alert for Booker for aggravated battery with a knife after he allegedly stabbed a female victim on July 15 on the West Side of Chicago.

According to WGN, Chicago police want to interview Booker in the deaths of Shantieya Smith, 25, and Sadaria Davis, 15. They both went missing.

Concerns were raised on social media that there was a serial killer on the loose.

That is one bad dude

One year later, family still seeking answers in Shantieya Smith’s murder

7 June 2019

CHICAGO — One year has passed since the body of Shantieya Smith was found inside an abandoned garage. Her family is still seeking answers.

Relatives and friends of Smith held a vigil in the alley Friday outside the abandoned garage where her body was found one year ago.

Smith was 26-years-old when she went missing in May of 2018. Her body was found weeks later in a garage not far from her home.

Police said they believe the case is connected to the murder of 15-year-old Sadaria Davis.

The medical examiner’s office ruled both deaths “homicide by unspecified means.”

Chicago police identified Charlie Booker as someone they wanted to question. He is now in Cook County jail charged with attacking other women.

But no there have been no charges filed in the deaths of Smith and Davis.

Smith’s mother said the last update she received from detectives is that were still waiting to DNA test results.
