"...Bruce was a pastor at Calvary Chapel of Cape Girardeau [southeast Missouri] from about 2003 into 2007."

Report: Suspect in murder, sex assaults at religious supplies store was a pastor

After that’s comes the Jewish Community Center/Schnucks that ended in Mar 2014, up to his bankruptcy declaration of unemployment in Jan, 2017, a three year time frame, a question mark.

According to Bruce’s LinkedIn page, his most recent job was an agent with American Family Insurance. Speaking to KMOV, Bruce’s employer said he had not heard from the suspect in 12 days. Previously, between August 2013 and March 2014, Bruce worked as a customer services specialist with the Jewish Community Center of Greater St. Louis as well as being a manager at Schnucks store.”

Snipped.

So....bankruptcy in the month before the Delphi murders. Seemingly unemployed at that time?
hmmm

jmo, thinking aloud

In case anyone (like me) doesn't know what Schnucks is, it is a grocery store chain local to St. Louis.

I wonder what he did at the grocery store. I'm just wondering if there was a downward spiral from military career, to pastor to small church (IIRC it was only a handful of people in the congregation and the church as since closed), to customer service type work at the Jewish Center, to grocery store, to bankruptcy and unemployment, to insurance.

I'm not a snob about work - any work that is done honestly is worthy work - but I do see a possible decline in his employment status if I'm seeing this correctly. That can be difficult for men, especially as they enter middle age and aren't achieving what they hoped. Talking aloud only, not fact at all, speculating.

IMO I don’t put much value in the clothes, as many people dress alike and a blue jacket, jeans, etc is not that uncommon, not to mention he might have altered his way of dressing considering the clothing descriptions released and “heat” in this case (I mean, if you were BG, would you really wear a blue jacket and paperboy hat again??)

As for the hat, I think the “paper boy” description is definitely interesting, but again I must ask would he be wearing such a hat considering the nationwide release of the sketch, etc. Also, LE has told us not to focus on the hat as regards to the sketch.

(ETA: Unless maybe he’s just so confident and brazen and doesn’t think he’ll be caught no matter what he wears...)

One thing I’ve also been thinking and still thinking about about is a predator hunter vs an opportunistic offender and how that plays in here.

I suppose one could be both?

I think one can be both. A lot of serial rapists/killers keep their 'kill bags' in their trunks, in case an opportunity arises.

One example might be the evil, vile creature, Israel Keyes. He was a detailed planner and went to great lengths to avoid detection by choosing people out of state, with no connection to him.

But his last murder was the girl in the drive through coffee shop, in his own town. That was a sick opportunity killing and it led to his arrest, finally.

Here's a detail that gave me chills yesterday: Before TB was caught in St. Louis, LE issued a description of his clothes. The cap and jacket essentially match BG clothes! See photo of the clothing as released by LE when they were looking for TB: Police have released a new detail about the suspect in the Catholic Supply store shooting

Yes, I know plenty of men wear jackets and caps....but such a close match to BG clothes? And wanted for the same type of crime, brazen attacks on more than one female on a Monday afternoon? The similarities are there.

The clothing is what stands out to me the most. It is very similar.

Says he was a manager.

So, not high-level exec, but not a stockboy either. Thanks for checking into that.

Could mean something....or not. Not showing up for work for 12 days does mean something.

Maybe he was hit by one of his victims and didn't want to show up at work with a black eye??

TB’s mugshot looks like he has some damage to his eyebrow and a bruise under his eye. I wonder if he fought the officers?

What a seriously disturbed person.

This does not seem like a first offender, but one who got overly confident because he got away with it before. When he gets upset, he finds a way to hurt people. Not sure the Delphi case is connected (there is nothing ruling that possibility out tonight). He has moved so many times, but looks like mostly across Missouri and back a few years, California.

I hope the FBI is looking at every possibility with this guy. His angry stare in his mugshot gives me the shivers.
