Circumstances of Disappearance:
White was reported missing from Bloomington, Indiana on August 20, 1982. The report indicated that his residence at 4010 Stoutes Creek Road was burglarized and the telephone lines had been cut. Both White and his vehicle were nowhere to be found. He has never been heard from again.

His vehicle was later discovered abandoned on a county road off of State Road 37. The license plate had been removed. Few details are available regarding White's disappearance and his whereabouts remain unknown.

This legal notice in The Times-Mail (Bedford, IN), 12 Sep 82, pg 36 with the filing date of August 17, 1982 says he disappeared at 1 AM. The filing of August 17, 1982 seeks temporary guardianship of the estate and supporting affadavits that diligent search has been made and he has not been found.

I don't know how one conducts a diligent search with supporting affadavits if the person is reported missing (per Indiana State Police website link) 3 days after the legal notice is filed. Perhaps there is a clerical error somewhere.
