This tutorial shows how to search by location and date on Instagram. This feature was removed a while back but the URL modification still works.
My example uses 2/4/17 11:10:00 PM Eastern as the target time. Pick the end of the time window you would like to look at - the posts will display in reverse chronological order, from that time backwards.
1. Epoch time in milliseconds: 1486267800000
Get your Epoch time here: Epoch Converter
2. Instagram Epoch Time: 1314227400000
This is the same time of day as your Epoch time, but on 8/24/11 instead of your target date. (For me, that's 8/24/11 11:10:00 PM Eastern)
3. Subtract the Instagram Epoch Time from your UNIX Epoch Time: 172040400000
4. Convert to Binary: 10100000001110011010000010110010000000

5. Count the characters in your binary string using the link below: 38

6. Add zeroes to the front until the string length is 41: for us that's 3
00010100000001110011010000010110010000000
7. Add zeroes to the end to make it 64 numbers long: for us that's 23
0001010000000111001101000001011001000000000000000000000000000000
8. Convert your new number back to decimal: 1443179475763200000

9. Make your new link. I'm searching in Cherry Hill, MD so I did a location search for Cherry Hill in the normal Instagram search bar.
https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/66566065/cherry-hill/
Then add "?max_id=" followed by your number from step 8.
