Appeal made to find missing mum who was last seen leaving Co Louth hen party

Ruth Maguire, 30, travelled to Carlingford, Co Louth near the border of Northern Ireland and the Republic on Saturday to celebrate a friend's imminent marriage.

The group have now issued a desperate appeal to find their friend, saying she has not been seen since 11.30pm on Saturday night and they cannot contact her.

Bridesmaid Katrina O'Hare told Belfast Live : "We thought she was going to head home to Newcastle because she had said to a bouncer she was going to get to Newcastle from here but her partner and kids were at her mum's house in Ligoniel.

"He drove down today and she was not there. Her mobile is going straight to voicemail. It was 11.30pm last night she was last seen.

"The police in Carlingford are involved."

Ruth is originally from Belfast but lives in Newcastle, Co Down with her family and works in a hospital.

Desperate appeal to find woman who vanished during hen party

Carlingford Marina

Where was the hen party?
How was she planning to get home when she left?
Did she leave alone or did friends walk out with her?
Not a lot of detailed info provided by MSM, unfortunately.

Noted there's a Carlingford Marina.
Water.
Hate it when there's water.

I think this story is a little different

Ruth Maguire, 30, was one of 32 women on the hen in the town and her friends discovered she was missing when they returned to the house they were staying in.

Ruth's friend Katrina O’Hare said the group "all headed home to house we are staying in” at 11.30pm.

The house is less than five minutes from Taaffe’s bar, where the hen party had been socialising beforehand.

Within minutes of returning to the house, they realised Ruth was not with them.

No coat and phone dead from above link

A doorman heard her say she might make her way home to Newcastle, Co Down.

However, her partner and children had gone to Belfast.

This morning he drove back down to Newcastle and realised she had not returned home.

Her phone is turned off and her coat was found in the bar today.

Ruth is tall, slim, has blonde hair and was wearing a black T-shirt saying ‘Member of Irish Bride drinking team’ and black jeans.

According to that article, they were at Taaffe's Bar. It looks like it's close to water, but don't know which direction the house they were staying at would have taken her once she left the bar:

Did she say this to him? If not and he overheard, she said it to a friend and they must remember she said that. It doesn't seem like the friends remember this, so that makes me think she said it to the doorman. But why tell a doorman something like that? And with her coat being found at the bar... I hope they investigate this guy.

This article is a bit different. This one says the whole group she was with left around 11:30.

What time was she last seen at the bar?

Her coat was left at the bar...I'm wondering if she left to go to the restroom or to go up to the bar to get a drink and the group left while she was gone from their table, then once she figured out she'd been left behind she just left on her own.

Stating the obvious: this ain't looking good.

JMO.

Might she have missed the other women's departure and then met with foul play? With so many women, would they have noticed if one person was in the washroom, or still settling up a bill. It makes my heart sink to read in the article that her coat was still at the bar.

Phone turned off and coat left behind doesn't look good. Hopefully she was just drunk and confused about going home to Newcastle and will be found safe and well. I'm Irish and I always feel sick when another person goes missing there, so many have vanished without a trace :(
