Maybe he did advise KC to take a plea deal and she didn't want to do it. KC is running this show.

I seriously doubt it because I believe he has "fallen" for her and her lies and has gotten himself emotional involved with his client. If he would have been inpartial and unbiased he would have realized that. I also believe the publicity and celebrity status has gotten to his head and even against his better judgement he has decided to stick it out and go to trial.
too bad for KC but certainly good for justice because he will lose miserably and IMHO, he will continue to embarass himself in public.

The case itself attracted those defence experts not JB IMO.
Am tired and sick of them anyway, whenever it's a high profile case they wanna be on the stand or should I say on TV.

this is exactly why Team KC has gathered...because of the publicity and CERTAINLY NOT, NOT, NOT because of JB.

Agreed. But at the same time he wears himself out doing things even the judge says *smurfhead* and to no end.

Putting myself in JB's shoes where a client has lied and seduced me so that I call her "my girl" and tell Geraldo that nobody knows the KC that I know....I would be banging my head on the floor, begging and remonstrating with client. Very strong advisements. Which she will disregard, sticking to story, no matter how stupid. Right now? JB shold consider joining a new profession.

Funny how they lied to each other, apparently. KC was snookered only insofar as her attorney told her he could get her off, filtered the widespread dismay, fibbed to her to about her chances.

Like to like. : )

BTW Jose Baez 2.0: scene investigator, get permission to travel to KC spots with client. Uh, no. Nevermind. Baez 3.0-5.0 physical contact with client, get to oversee crime scene and labs techs, tell id news to his girl.*

Geesh! Who knew there were established protocols and rules? Not JB!

I cannot figure out his true function in this case. Where is the real lawyer?

Agreeing with you again, but I cannot shake the feeling that JB is both a dupe and a dope.....mods let me at least say this in conclusion--there are valid premises and facts at hand.

:woohoo::woohoo:

I could not have said it better! so here I'm quoting you again.:clap:

I really wanted to answer that he is good for KC but it would have been in a sarcastic way. IMO he is steadily racking up the years on all the hoopla he does. I really can not even begin to voice my opinion on this one b/c I'll probably get in time out.

Who exactly is team KC besides her defense and family? IMO those are the only ones well if you include that fruitcake that was outside the house when the found the remains who has the same white glasses as KC. Everyone knows I'm anti-KC but I do have to give it to the other lawyers that represent her b/c they sure aren't soaking up the lime light like JB is.

How I love JB! My high school debate team made more coherent arguments than we've seen from him so far. Judge Strickland is a saint for holding a straight face and for holding his temper over the motions made last week.

That said, KC has the representation she deserves.

Interesting that less than 2% of respondents think JB is doing a good job.

If the court finds the same on a possible appeal if found guilty ... she may get a new trial.

How ironic ... maybe this is a good strategy.

I think the court has higher standards to meet than we do at WS.

Oh, of course he's qualified. Before I became consumed by Websleuths, I used to watch television. Project Runway taught me that you can make a bustier out of Twizzlers. Top Chef taught me that you can make a five star meal out of some Cheetos and a Slim Jim.

By promising to usher us all into a shared understanding about why Casey has done what she's done, Baez seems to have undertaken the task of creating a fine perfume from 10,000 pounds of manure. That's quite a chore. :sumo::runaway:
I think he's a bit of a buffoon and that he's making some poor choices, but he's qualified.

Too funny. You brightened my day.

I agree-- If Casey attempted to appeal based on ineffective assistance of counsel, I would bet it would look something like this:

Something occured to me reading this post......JB has managed to keep KC very isolated.Granted ,he has good legal reasons for doing so,but the level of isolation reminds me of an abusive relationship.
He is the only one who visits KC in jail.
She gets her outside info from him
When she was out on bail she spent much of her time isolated at his office.
He got very upset at the thought of the chaplain breaking the news of Caylee's id to her....both posesive and possibly a fear of what she might say.
He called her "my girl" very possesive and unprofessional.
Lee was concerned and warned KC that JB might not be passing on her correspondence to the family.
Does this strike a chord with anyone else?

He isn't the only one who visits her but I do get what you are saying. He is very protective of her.

MissJames btw...when did he say my girl? Sorry, I've been off the boards for a few weeks.

Waaay back when LP first bonded KC out...he told reporters to let him threw because he had to "get his girl." The same day as the umbrella and heavy rain going out where KC practically kissed him on the neck whispering...

:clap:Coley so glad your back posting!!! We've been missing your imput.:)

Oh, gosh time passes me by. Supposedly this was when JB said KC whispered to him "That she was guilty of anything and she wanted to hold her head high"...Funny, cause she never lifted her head during the whole catwalk hoopla.

Aw....Thanks...I was getting to the point of :bang: so I had to take a much needed break. Glad to be back.

And you were missed!
He said that back in the beginning when he was getting KC out of jail..."I'm going to get my girl"

I believe it was a response to a media question.

exactly. Which we discussed that usually when men talk about "my girl" they are referring to a girlfriend or wife....not in JB's case
