What war crimes has Israel committed again?

It has to be said, Palestinians are grown ups. The choices they make for themselves and their children are on them.

As already mentioned, 50% of Gaza's population are 18 or younger. But honestly that rhetoric sounds like the same justification terrorists employ when they target and kill American citizens, or any citizens of a democracy, because 'they voted for their government'. It stinks then and it stinks now, especially considering Gaza demographics.

Let’s just hope this is both the beginning and the end, and the worst doesn’t happen with today’s threat.

"According to local reports, a man of Chechen origin and his brother were arrested at the scene.

All schools in the city were put under lockdown and police have been put on high alert."

“As you may have heard, Hamas said they will publicly post videos of the barbaric acts of torture and execution of the hostages,” school officials said. “We all join together and pray for the safety of all of the hostages. If Hamas posts these videos, we emphatically ask that you do not share these videos with or permit your child(ren) to watch them.”

The day school also offered guidelines and resources for how parents can discuss the war with their kids.

Child psychologists agree – that the risk of exposing children to traumatic imagery right now is too great.

“I 100% encourage parents to – for now – delete the apps and explain to them why, because there are very disturbing images,” Dr. Natasha Beck from drorganicmommy.com told KTLA. “Once they see them, they cannot get them out of their mind.”

A scary time to be a Jew right now. This ain't anti Zionism, it's antisemitic. From politicians, to professors, to teachers, to students. They killed babies, kids, women, and the elderly, and these people seek to somehow justify it. You can't make peace with anyone who believes this is remotely ok.

At least they were given a warning. The Israeli families had no warnings and no way to defend themselves, from invaders wearing IDF uniforms and carrying weapons.
Eye for an Eye ends up with no one having eyes. Let's hope diplomacy can prevail, allowing peace and safety for innocent civilians on all sides and the wrong-doers punished.

It wasn't a day of jihad here, and we are almost at the close of Friday 13th (9pm here where I live). Hopefully it is the same throughout the world.

Apparently the teacher is a French language teacher and the perp is a former student. Details not confirmed by police, but being reported.

from your link. I cringe at the use of it by the US in Iraq. There doesn't seem to be any rational use for it in war.

Is using white phosphorus a war crime?

Return to menu
It depends. White phosphorus is sometimes used to make smoke for signaling, marking targets or creating a screen, which is considered a legitimate use.
But it can breach international law to use it in areas with high population density. “The use of white phosphorus in Gaza, one of the most densely populated areas in the world, magnifies the risk to civilians and violates the international humanitarian law prohibition on putting civilians at unnecessary risk,” Human Rights Watch said in its report, saying this would make its alleged use violate international law. “There are readily available and nonlethal alternatives to white phosphorus smoke shells, including some produced by Israeli companies.”

I noticed earlier that they have banned pro-Palestinian protests in France, trying to head off the trouble.
Trouble in the Middle East can cause (and has caused) trouble in France.

Fighting in the Middle East in the past has led to tensions in France, which is estimated to have the world's third-largest Jewish population after Israel and the US, and the largest Muslim population in Western Europe.

France bans all pro-Palestine demonstrations

Any reason why these ppl are not arrested?

It's vile, but I don't think it's a crime over there. I wouldn't be opposed to deporting anyone who does that though, British citizen or otherwise. If you support the intentional targeting of women, children, and fricken babies, then get the hell out.

A million people and only one road - what it's like in area where people told to leave

Paul Adams
Diplomatic correspondent

How big is the area?
The area of the Gaza Strip where Israel has ordered an evacuation within 24 hours covers around a third of the territory - north of a seasonal watercourse known as Wadi Gaza, which cuts through a narrow band of mainly agricultural land.
The order includes the whole of Gaza City and two major refugee camps, Jabalya and Beach Camp. It also includes the towns of Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia, which are both adjacent to the main Erez crossing point at the northern end of the Strip.
Taken together, this represents one of the most densely populated parts of the Gaza Strip.

How many people live there?
At least 1.1 million people live in the affected area. Gaza City has a population of around 600,000. Beach Camp is home to around 90,000 people and Jabalya, the largest camp in the Gaza Strip, has 116,000.
There are at least six hospitals in the area, along with around two dozen primary care clinics.

How will people get out?
Any mass movement of civilians will inevitably prove chaotic and extremely hazardous. There is only one main north-south road, along which everyone will be expected to move.
Fuel is in very short supply, streets in Gaza City and elsewhere are already full of rubble, and there’s no sign yet that Israeli air strikes have stopped to allow an evacuation to start.

Impossible to move severely ill patients in Gaza - WHO

The World Health Organization said local health authorities in Gaza had informed it that it was impossible to evacuate vulnerable hospital patients from northern Gaza, in the wake of Israel’s evacuation order.

"There are severely ill people whose injuries mean their only chances of survival is being on life support, such as mechanical ventilators," said WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic.

"So moving those people is a death sentence. Asking health workers to do so is beyond cruel."
