The details of case

Workers at the Mestre office of a social cooperative in the city of Venice have asked for help from the public for a person they are witnessing. It is a man who in the summer of 2005, to recover the documents he had lost, turned to the volunteers at the railway station in Mestre. But the investigations carried out did not allow him to go back to his identity. He claims to have lost his memory and to remember only a name, Steve Lee, a date and a place of birth: April 14, 1967 in New York (USA). He also has vague memories of England and France, speaks very well English and French, but also reads Chinese and Arabic. She also speaks German but is reluctant to do so and associates this language with something negative. He is a learned person, and in recent months, attending the libraries of the Venetian city, he also learned a bit of Italian. From clinical trials to which it has been exposed so far, there is no physical trauma. At the end of the live connection, he himself appealed, in English, French and Italian, to help reconstruct his identity.

Steven Lee York is missing from CA. He has some good identifiers but our unknown has none. Nothing about speaking multiple languages. DOBs do not match. I'm awful at comparing faces so will just leave it here for discussion.

Source Information

Steven James Lambert's NamUs profile states that he "died at sea". I can't find any missing person profiles that have information regarding his disappearance. I'm curious to know whether others witnessed his death or if his boat was found abandoned and therefore he's presumed deceased.

His profile doesn't state where he was born or where he's from, only that he's missing from New Bedford, MA (over there by NY ;)). I wonder if he may have been rescued by a passing ship/boat which eventually took him to France. According to his NamUs profile, he'd be 54 years old today, which would put his birth year at around 1967/1968 depending on his actual birth date.

I couldn't play the video. Are there other pictures? Does he speak in it?

Possible?

Interesting possibility. I wish there were more photos available of the unidentified man for comparison to Steven.

I'm curious if this case is still unresolved.
(I know of a case of a john & jane doe still on Chi l'ha visto who are already identified (+10 years ago))
Is there someone, maybe an Italian, who knows if this is still 'active'?
Btw, he really looks like Jason Segel from How I Met Your Mother :)

Thanks for your reply! Do you know of other media coverage (news articles, videoclips) or police reports other than that site? I tried Googling for it, using Google Translate, without any luck! Might give us extra info.

Unfortunately there is nothing on the internet and even the program only talked about it once when it presented the case, I fear it will remain unsolved for a long time.

Another possibility
