Missing NHS nurse James Kingsbury (Image: Dyfed Powys Police)
A family of a NHS nurse have issued an emotional message two weeks after he was reported missing.

''Jim Kingsbury, from Brecon, was last week on October 5.

Originally from the Ystradgynlais area, Mr Kingsbury has been described as a "dedicated" nurse and volunteer biker for the blood service. His family have described his disappearance as "totally out of character".

In a statement released through Dyfed-Powys Police, they said: "Jim has been missing now for two weeks. We are desperate to know where he is. This is not like him, it’s totally out of character. He is a dedicated NHS nurse and volunteers as a biker for the blood service.

“Please Jim, get in touch. We need to know you are ok. We miss you.

“If anyone has seen him or knows where he is please contact police. We just want him home.”

Police ask Glynneath villagers for help in search for missing man
''A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Extensive enquiries and searches have been carried out and we are now asking that residents within the Glynneath area search their sheds and outbuildings.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police."

Jim was last heard from at 1pm on October 5, when he said he was in the Glynneath, Neath Port Talbot, area.

He is about 5' 9" tall, wears glasses and has grey hair. He was last seen wearing dark jeans, brown boots and a grey jumper, although he may have changed clothes since."

His family issued an emotional statement earlier this month which read: "We are desperate to know where he is.''

Agreed...very worrying. Last ‘heard from’ more than 3 weeks ago.

Sadly many of our NHS workers are reaching breaking point.

I know it’s a terrible thing to say but I kinda hope he is just lost or taking time in the valleys...as opposed to being driven to the edge by this insidious pandemic...

ETA Wales is not really somewhere you want to spend extended periods of time outside at this time of year...

Concern over ‘debilitating’ work stress for NHS staff
''Mental health problems are one of the main reasons for staff absences, with latest data showing that anxiety, stress and other psychiatric illness accounted for 28.3% of all sickness leave in May 2020.

Commenting on the announcement, Dame Donna Kinnair, chief executive and general secretary at the Royal College of Nursing, said: “This pandemic has required nursing staff to show incredible dedication.

“Some nursing staff have had to make decisions that put patients’ needs above their own.

“They have stayed away from friends and family, in hotels, so they can keep working. They have worked longer hours in highly pressurised settings.''

Covid: The NHS workers 'still recovering' as second wave looms
"I just thought, I'm coming in here and I'm going to die. I'm going to catch Covid and I'm going to be one of those patients in the beds."

As the second wave of the pandemic takes deep root across parts of the UK, thousands of NHS workers are struggling to recover from what they have already been through.

"We were all in PPE all the time," recalls Nathan, a senior intensive care nurse at a hospital in the Midlands. "All you can see is people's eyes, you can't see anything else."

He describes trying to help junior members of staff survive long and difficult days.

"And I'd see these eyes as big as saucers saying help me, do something. Make this right. Fix this."

"The pressure was insane, and the anxiety just got me," he says. "I couldn't sleep, and I couldn't eat, I was sick before work, I was shaking before I got into my car in the morning."

Nathan ended up having time off with severe anxiety, but he is now back at the hospital, waiting for the beds to fill up again.

We've spoken to a number of nurses and doctors across the UK who are deeply apprehensive about what lies ahead this winter.''

I hope he is found safe. I work in the medical field and can attest to how exhausted my colleagues and I are. The stress can be overwhelming, and so many medical workers are not doing well this far into the pandemic. With winter looming, it's only going to get harder.

Here is hoping to James being found!

Theres a sad conclusion to James a NHS nurse.
RIP ❤️.

So very sad, gee- this has been a tough year for so many, although glad that Mr Kingsbury has been located.
