Hannah's movements have been examined from that night and I know that there's a JM timeline too-- but what do we think he was doing walking along the mall at exactly the same time she was? Was it a direct route between bars? If so, why would he have left an open tab at Tempo? He must have planned to return, but why go walk on the mall?

Do you have a link for that? I was under the impression that he paid before he left, because when he returned he paid for the two beers using his card for the second time that night. It would be weird to return, close your tab and then order two more drinks to just turn around and run the card again. :waitasec:

It wasn't an open tab. The receipt was for two $7 drinks. He'd been there before according to C.Barefoot's reporting and left. Last night the same journalist reported the this predator was known to prowl around last call, so if all that is true, my guess would be - habit.

There's a difference between Martha Jefferson House and Martha Jefferson Hospital. This is a warrant in debt filed by Martha Jefferson Hospital for money he owed them (presumably medical bills). This (or others, UVA filed some too) was later garnished from the wages he earned from Martha Jefferson House.

That's on the timeline, too, or was (it's not on my copy) as regards one of his two (?) wage garnishments. That's also the facility where someone interviewed his former coworkers who vouched for the girlfriend. I'll nose around and see if I can find a link, but it's out there and has been discussed here pretty frequently.

I was wrong about tab, then. Am still interested in where he might have been heading, though, and don't know enough about the area to know the options -- I assume other bars were nearby. I know it's been thoroughly discussed, but the HG/JM/WG intersections just didn't seem random.

If you look at the details of what condition the '01 victim below was found. It presents similarities to, if I'm correct on the details, the injuries that may have been sustained by Morgan Harrington and the tender young couple, Heidi Childs and David Metzler. Could the 2001 victim be around when JM started out?

That makes sense, as I hadn't remembered seeing the details of the condition she was found until today. Thank you. Good catch. It sounds like they're checking it against all the possible victims in Va at least.

Coy Barefoot does not have what I would call journalistic integrity. I wonder if he is not making this up or at very least stretching the truth. Maybe the bouncer noted some of this but the choice of the word "victim" is the authors.

How do you know and can you prove your assertion?

I have questioned whether he really had a girlfriend or not too. But it wasn't just his grandma that talked about her, his co-workers did too, IIRC.

i do know that it is an academic town... a lot of research studies at the college pay subjects for time

I think that is his preference and you can work your way back from there (meaning at 1:30 am, I suspect he's open to many things).

I wonder if the timeframe for the hospital bills corresponds to the time he assaulted the driver. It has been said that to avoid being charged he accepted responsibility for the medical bills stemming from his assault, that doesn't necessarily mean he actually paid the bills. JMO

You're right. UVA has one the nations best child psych departments. Had a friend in program and they do a lot of work with local children. He may have been one of them. Thank you! As always great info.

It was mentioned here that he attended ?Stony Point? elementary? Does that sound right? How do the grades work there? Is there a middle school? Sorry to keep asking you things, and don't feel pressed to answer. He moved to closer to Monticello HS when his parents divorced? Don't worry about answering. Whatever works. There are warrants in debt from both hospitals. The assault victim was taken to UVA (IIRC).

IMO, UVA would make the patient the responsible party regardless of any verbal contract then (or written later) between the patient and JM for JM to pay it. So, any attempt to collect that would have come from the victim, not the hospital. One was 6/23/09 from Martha Jefferson Hospital, another another 1/12/12 from UVA Hospital, 10/18/12 UVA Hospital, 5/26/13 UVA. Finally garnished by UVA once 6/28/13 and a second time 1/9/14.

My speculation is that the victim paid his co-pay upon admission (as a lawyer, we can assume he had good insurance) and JM reimbursed the victim directly at some point in the future (or said he would, but the charges were dropped so we can assume that actually happened), so the victim's insurance was billed and paid the remaining portion.

That's very interesting, especially as it was suggested earlier today that he may have use used/unused summer camps
