Does anyone have any Idea how many trials JB has actually won as a full fledged lead attorney?

Let's see now..some of his past clients, that I have been able to search...

1) In 2008, Nilton Diaz...Murder Case...Client found Guilty. Ended up appealing and calling Baez a Defective Lawyer who pulled a Trial by Ambush move that backfired.

2) In 2007, Kissimmee Mayor George Gant .
Gant was a doctor who was forced to resign because two of his patients accused him of sexually violated them during an exam. Unfortunately for the prosecution, their main witness refused to testify and Gant was cleared of all charges.

3) In 2006, Elvira Garcia Kidnapping Case. Garcia was accused of kidnapping her roommate’s six week old daughter. The charges were later dropped because it was more of a domestic dispute rather than a kidnapping.

Who Is Jose Baez?

According to his old website..which can still be found cut and pasted on some forums, Baez has successfully defended many DUI clients in Florida...

There is a blurb about a Cleared State Trooper on his website but the link TAKES YOU NOWHERE!

Wow, thank you I am underwhelmed by his expertise I presume most of his clients were under the influence when they engaged him.....:floorlaugh:

Quote:*After reading today at Examiner.Com that Jose Baez's past experience involves winning 32 out of 34 trials while working as an intern at a Public Defender's Office as well as doing internet training at Lexis-Nexis, I was shocked.*

why does Lexis-Nexis sound familiar in this case?

JB was sporting a black Lexis-Nexis umbrella while escorting KC from jail when it was pouring down rain. I remember thinking "does he even know what that is" LMAO.

YES! I did a paper in high school about Mark Twain and I focused specifically on how big words seemed to choke him.

I LOVE this thread, it's very timely because I was just talking to my family about this very topic. I was wondering if anybody knew a "name" for this phenomenon, it's not 'buzz words' which implies something something catchy, I'm not sure if there is a word to describe it or not, but it's something I'm so focused on when other people do it.

When I met my boyfriend he had two fillers he'd say which drove me up the wall. One was (for example) "I"m really cold ... (pause for a second) ... you?"

I'd say "Me WHAT? Who are you, Tarzan? Ask me a proper question and then I'll answer you!" haa.

The other was "It's cold out (again, second pause), no?"

Anyway, way off topic but this would be a fun thread for the basement parking lot, listing all our favorite ... I still don't know what to call them...

Here's another one... the guy who says "Right?" after every sentence. It baffles me.

My hubby does this "do you want to come, or no?" It drives me nuts. I think he wants the answer to be "no" so he asks like that. He is in sales so I think it's something he picked up there. It drives me straight up a tree!

Quite frankly...

In his own ridiculous words...the man of the hour (or the man of inconsequence)...MR. Jose Baez:

Anyone remember this GEM?:

Jose Baez, Esquire
522 Simpson Road
Kissimmee, FL 34744

Dear Mr. Baez:

In your correspondence to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office you have stated your willingness to fully cooperate with law enforcement regarding the investigation of Caylee Anthony’s disappearance within the confines of your ethical obligation to your client, Casey Anthony.

In response to your offer to fully cooperate, I am requesting that you provide the circumstances and location Caylee Anthony was last seen. As you are aware, the previous statements provided by your client have been false and misleading.

The law enforcement personnel involved in the search for Caylee Anthony acknowledge your ethical obligation to you client. We hope that it is your client’s genuine desire to help find her daughter and to uncover the truth. We are also hopeful that you are able to provide the circumstances and location that Casey Anthony last saw her daughter, and that you understand the information we are requesting is crucial to the search for Caylee Anthony. If you are willing to assist in this matter, please contact me at your earliest opportunity.

Sincerely,

Kevin Beary
Sheriff of Orange County

Sergeant John Allen
Criminal Investigations Division
Missing Persons Squad

Re: State of Florida v. Casey M. Anthony

Dear Sgt. Allen:

I was pleased to see that your office has decided to take me up on our offer to cooperate in the search for Caylee Marie Anthony. Albeit two months later, it is better late than never, I suppose.

I was, however, displeased by the fact that I had to hear about your fax from the media before I even got the chance to read it. Nonetheless, I will convey your message to my client and discuss it with her further.

Please give me a call when you are more interested in searching for Caylee, as opposed to trying to improve your office’s public relations image. I realize that your office is under a lot of pressure because you haven’t found Caylee, butyou should conduct your efforts in a more productive manner as opposed to leaking your communications with me to the media.Sincerely,

Jose A. Baez, Esq.

LOL- every single time he says it, I'm thinking "Quite frankly Baez, I don't give a damn".

Tee Hee.........so funny you say this as when I hear JB say "Quite frankly", I always think in my head...."Quite frankly Jose, I wish you would STOP saying Quite frankly!"

I do believe that JB using that phrase is an attempt on his part to convince anyone within listening distance (but esp. the Judge) that he is about to be brutally honest. He falls short in this attempt however IMO.

OK, I couldn't resist. Someone took one of Baez's pressers and edited out everything but the Ummms. Filed under Comedy.

If you can make it past one minute, you're a trooper. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-fwKOt_gWE

Couldn't resist re-watching the video Muzikman posted - it's still as funny.

But we have made progress! Baez has gone from his "quite frankly's" and his "ummms" to "No comment" and he "doesn't understand why we are here".

Okay, so it's change and not progress...:banghead:

kaRN....Thanks for that link but I just spent the last 5 minutes trying to wipe the "smudge" off my screen! :floorlaugh: Then it dawned on me it is the webpage that looks smudged!
First to Trapshooter,
I want to thank you for two things.

After discovering in my stats quite a Websleuths following to my very, very old post about Jose Baez - and tracking back to its link here on this forum - I read your message about the background of my blog being hard to read. No one had told me this before! You are right, I totally agree. I've changed it.

Second, I want to thank you and KaRN for reading my post and esp. to KaRN for sharing it here. Thx!

In fact, thanks to all the Websleuthers that have gone to the post and read my take, written it seems like an eternity ago, on Jose Baez. (And nope, I don't have any new info on him and nope, I haven't changed my opinion.)

Whew. Now that I've joined your fab org, I'm going to go surfing around now.

I'm hoping you have a link or discussion (whatever its called) about a little boy who went missing here recently: Joshua Davis. I've written about him, too, on my blog and my friend Diane Fanning, the true crime writer, is monitoring this story 24/7. Terrible thing. Nancy Grace is finally on the case, good. This place is so on-the-spot that I'm betting you do, even before I start looking.

Thanks again, everyone! God bless!

Welcome!! :)

Wow -- thanks, all!

I'm happy to be here, and amazed at all the hard work and detail that I've seen so far - and I haven't even hit the tip of the iceberg yet. Wow. Unbelievable all the resources and insight stored here. Can't wait to surf thru this weekend....

I'm also blown away by the fancy, moving emoticons (smilies?) that some of you used in welcome messages. Kind of hypotizing, all the pretty colors ... hee hee.

And, thanks for patience here, I'm still figuring out my way and I'm hoping that this thanks reaches over to the Joshua Davis forum (which I'm very interested in, and thx for the info on it being here! Wow!) ... I'm not sure how to get over there, but here goes....

Serious concern: addiction to this site and not getting any work done.

Seriously. Seriously, seriously.

Thanks again!!
Reba
