Durham Regional Police are looking for Joseph Clarke, 43, of Oshawa. He has a history of violence and didn't meet his outreach worker on Wednesday, July 29. - DRPS photo

DURHAM -- A missing man with a history of violence is being sought by the police.

Joseph Clarke, 43, is an outreach patient from Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences and he failed to check in with his field worker on Wednesday, July 29.

He lives in the Rossland and Stevenson roads area of Oshawa and was last seen by the outreach worker on July 27, Durham Regional Police report.


Clarke is described as white, five-feet nine-inches (182 cm) tall, about 260 lbs. (118 kg) in weight, with a shaved head, brown eyes, a large Celtic cross tattoo on his left forearm and a mermaid tattoo on his back. He was wearing khaki shorts and a white dress shirt with pink stripes.

Anyone with knowledge of Clarke's location is cautioned not to approach him. Instead, call the local police service.

In Durham Region, call 1-888-579-1520. The lead investigator is D/Cst. Tanner of the DRPS Offender Management Unit at ext. 5208.
