Smith was last seen at her trailer home on Little Creek Road in Manchester, Kentucky on March 12, 2016. She has never been heard from again. She was not reported missing until the evening of March 27.

Her trailer home caught fire around the time of her disappearance, but a search of the burned-out property turned up no sign of Smith or her remains; there was no indication that anyone was home when the fire started.

According to her loved ones, Smith is a family-oriented person and had not given any indication that she planned to leave the area. Her case remains unsolved.

Thoughts on this disappearance:
  1. If she was in the fire, then her remains would have been found.
  2. The fire might have been set by someone that disappeared her who also wanted to create a diversion or destroy some evidence of the abduction with the abduction.

A eight-year missing persons investigation has shifted to a murder investigation as Kentucky State Police have identified remains found in 2021 as a missing Clay County woman.

The remains were confirmed to be 30-year-old Angela “Toot Toot” Smith, of Big Creek, after “exhaustive testing,” KSP announced Tuesday.

Smith was reported missing by family members in March 2016 to KSP Post 11 in London. In March 2021, state police were informed of human remains found in Daniel Boone National Forest in Big Creek.
