CPSO LOOKING FOR MISSING MAN

Lake Charles –
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing man, Charles McAlister, Jr., 71, that was reported missing yesterday. During the initial investigation detectives learned McAlister’s truck was seen in Cameron Parish on August 3. After detectives notified Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office it was discovered they had located the truck abandoned during the early morning hours on August 4 at Rutherford Beach. McAlister, who suffers from medical issues, left home without his medication and cell phone.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating McAllister. If anyone sees him or knows of his whereabouts, please contact the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605.

The Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office is assisting CPSO in the investigation.

CALCASIEU PARISH, La. (WNTZ) – On August 8, 2023, The Louisiana State Police has issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Calcasieu Sheriff’s Office for Charles McAlister Jr. Assistance is still needed in helping to locate McAlister.

He was last seen at his residence on Chenier Drive in Lake Charles on August 03, 2023. Investigators believe McAlister left his residence without his wallet, phone, medications, and glasses.

The vehicle belonging to McAlister, a white 2011 Toyota Tundra bearing Louisiana license plate B658023, was located with damage on Rutherford Beach Road in Cameron Parish on August 4, 2023.
 
Still missing.

CAMERON, La. (KPLC) - It’s been over a month, and a Lake Charles man is still missing, despite numerous searches by law enforcement.

Charles McAlister’s family and friends are asking for the community to keep your eyes peeled for any information that might be helpful to investigators.

McAlister’s family lives in different states, so his friends are also assisting in the search to find him.

“I don’t believe there was a lot of damage done to the vehicle, so it wasn’t like it was in an accident or anything, just kind of went in the ditch and probably got stuck in the mud or something,” Calcasieu Parish Commander of Special Services Matt Vizinot said. “I think there was damage to a nearby stop sign.”

McAlister was last seen wearing a white hat, white t-shirt, blue jeans and white New Balance tennis shoes.

McAlister is a white male with gray hair and brown eyes. He’s around 5-foot-10, weighing 155 pounds and is missing his right middle finger. His family said he has a medical condition that may impair his memory or judgement.

Louisiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for McAlister on Aug. 8 because of the medical condition. His family said he also needs medication for his heart condition.

There is a beach clean-up event happening in Cameron this weekend. Law enforcement is asking participants to be on the look out for clothing or other items that might belong to McAlister.
