An Arnaudville man is still missing after his boat capsized Thursday on the Atchafalaya River in Krotz Springs.

Wildlife and Fisheries called off the search at about 7pm Thursday because the sun went down.

" I just hope to the good lord he's walking around somewhere to get help," said Raymond Richard's brother Ricky.

I know that area and the Atchafalaya River is pretty swift and deep in parts. It is all part of the Atchafalaya Basin that is known for many, many creatures including alligators, water moccasins and nutria. It will be a miracle if he is found alive.

Miiracles do happen let's hope so in this man's case.

The search for a missing boater who disappeared in the Atchafalaya River last week has all but ended.

Raymond Richard disappeared into the water when his boat struck a submerged log on Thursday. One other man in the boat survived.
