Omg, and seen sitting in the ditch around 8:30 PM. Seems he was wandering around all day, seen by multiple people. Did his wife go look for him? If so seems she would’ve found him. This is from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office FB page:
”Investigators located video surveillance in the area which showed him walking in the roadway by the Coteau Holmes Fire Station at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.“
So, yes, at least that sighting seems to have been confirmed.
So sad that he didn't duck into the fire station.Omg, and seen sitting in the ditch around 8:30 PM. Seems he was wandering around all day, seen by multiple people. Did his wife go look for him? If so seems she would’ve found him.
ETA: I read back and saw his wife had gone to the camp looking for him, but not until that night. I haven’t seen anything about whether he had a cell phone with him.
I watched last night’s news clip. I hope billboards also went up in the St. Martinville-New Iberia areas.Wife of missing St. Martin Parish man continues search with billboards
If you drive down Johnston St. by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s campus, and down Ambassador Caffery near Acadiana Lanes, you will notice digital billboards displaying Willard Das…www.klfy.com
LOUISIANA (KLFY) — After five months, the search for missing St. Martin Parish man Willard Daspit Jr. continues in Lafayette. His wife, Lara Daspit, took it upon herself to expand the search for her husband, using billboards across the city to get his face out to the public more.
“I believe this will [work],” she said. “This is going to reach enough people and get enough people talking that somebody is going to know and have heard something.”

I’m local and unfortunately, I’ve not seen anything posted in the local papers or TV stations. The area is extremely rural with 100s of acres of sugarcane fields, fishing ponds, crawfish ponds, & wooded hunting land. I was hoping during cane and crawfish harvesting that his remains would be found.Yeah this is super weird. Is anyone still seeing people actively looking foe him?
I wonder if Equisearch might be able to help with a case like this?I’m local and unfortunately, I’ve not seen anything posted in the local papers or TV stations. Cane season is just starting up. If he is in a sugarcane field, he may possibly be found.I’m local and unfortunately, I’ve not seen anything posted in the local papers or TV stations. I thought that when grinding started in October, he would have been found when the cane was cut.Cane season is just starting up. If he is in a sugarcane field, he may possibly be found.
