The man was found collapsed in Regents Park Road in Barnet on Friday morning, believed to have fallen over and hit his head.

"He was found wearing blue jeans, a black hooded top, and grey Nike canvas shoes and in has some change, keys and a small metal necklace.

He has a large scar running vertically from his navel to his chest, believed to be a surgical scar from a possible heart procedure.

The man also has numerous tattoos, including a very distinctive design running up his left arm onto his chest featuring skulls and a face."

The tattooed man is still in a critical condition in hospital after being discovered without any ID on Friday morning in Finchley.

Officers believe he had fallen over and hit his head and say "attempts to identify him have been exhausted."

"When Met Police posted the plea on their Twitter page, social media users immediately sprung into action, retweeting the initial tweet over 1,000 times. The unidentified man's story also inspired some people to leave comments on the post, with many expressing sympathy and leaving kind wishes."

"In addition, another user named @DJinextremis speculated that the man may be a member of the miltary, writing: "That tattoo type is very common amongst recently served US and UK military. Often SF, just an observation."

Officers are asking anyone who recognises the male to get in touch via 101, quoting reference 2734 of 6 July."

DOTR, thank you so much for letting us know!! I've read this thread but never had anything enlightening to add. I hope the presence of his family can aid in his recovery, if possible...
