Found Safe UK - Luke Ashden, 32, Seaford, East Sussex, 20 Aug 2021

Police in East Sussex and Brighton are searching for Luke Ashden, 32, from Seaford, who has not been seen since 10am on Friday 20 August when he told friends he was going to Brighton.

Luke is described as white, 5’7", of slim build, with mousey brown short hair, and slim facial features with a pointed nose. He was wearing black and white trainers, blue jeans and a red Arsenal t-shirt.

His right leg is two inches shorter than his left, which affects his walking.

Although there are currently no suspicious circumstances behind Luke's disappearance, there is concern for his welfare.

This heartbreaking little detail leapt out at me, because it reminded me of Carmel Fenech, a long-term Sussex missing person, who also walked with a limp because of one leg being shorter than the other.

It makes me wonder how often the seeds of missing incidents are sown in small details that give rise to early incidents of teasing or bullying, and lead to low self-esteem, depression and other mental health problems, isolation and vulnerability to various forms of trouble.

Brighton's an easy place to disappear in and certainly an easy place to run into trouble. I hope Luke turns up safe soon.

According to his fb posts, Luke is engaged, although his profile also includes some wedding pics from 2018 and a fair amount of relationship activity, including recently.

Also just to add that the picture police have released appears on his social media nearly 10 years ago, so his appearance may be very different now.
