So... still no date for the trial to start??

TIA! :seeya:

Looks like this trial is delayed for at least another four months because of a ruling on a "device", which I believe is the phone his lawyer had possession of. Also, the prosecution doesn't plan on using the Toyota 4 runner at the trial...

http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...tus-hearing/mcvW1IuUALhZInWQidMHaL/story.html

Prosecutors do not plan to use the vehicle in the upcoming prosecution of Hernandez, Ward wrote. Fox Toyota, he wrote, “requires the return of its property prior to the closing on the sale of its dealership.” A closing date has not been set, court papers show.

Locke also set a May 3 court date to discuss Hernandez’s upcoming murder trial. The meeting is expected to take place after the Supreme Judicial Court hears arguments about a “device” that prosecutors and defense attorneys have been quarreling over.

Locke has put Hernandez’s trial on hold until issues concerning the item are resolved.

Oh No. Is that going to hurt the State's case if they can't use the Toyota as evidence?

Also, what's with the phone?

Judge finds Hernandez tipster unreliable

“I infer that, once Hernandez was convicted, the Source was highly motivated to do something that might help him win his release,” Garsh wrote. “The day after the guilty verdict was rendered, the Source contacted Sultan in order to convey information she thought would help Hernandez. She did not disclose her relationship with Hernandez.”

The woman was introduced to Hernandez through her father while both men were incarcerated at the Bristol County House of Correction, Garsh wrote.

Read "Satan" instead of "Sultan."
Gotta stop working nights.

I thought the same thing about the Toyota. I remember something about his attorneys trying to fight it...something about Ortiz and a search warrant, as they first found the Toyota investigating the OL murder.

Aaron Hernandez tells pen-pal fan violent ways she can kill herself as he condemns Patriots owner Robert Kraft for testifying against him - but tells how he still loves Tom Brady 'to death' in bizarre jail letter

Hernandez, 26, writes in prison letter from December that he has TV in his cell and still roots for his 'squad'

Praises Rob Gronkowski as 'the BEST TE ever to walk on a football field'

In the letter, Hernandez has harsh words for Robert Kraft, accusing him of being disloyal

The 74-year-old billionaire testified for prosecution in Hernandez's trial last year

He also lists violent ways the female fan should kill herself after she was negative about Hernandez in her correspondence

Also warns her she shouldn't have given her name and address to a 'gang-banger'... then insists he is not one

Hernandez is serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd, and he is still awaiting a trial for a double homicide

Does he have any money left?

Aaron Hernandez settles civil lawsuit in Florida

Lawyers for Alexander Bradley, a former friend of Hernandez, wrote in a court filing in federal court in Miami on Friday that “this matter has been settled.” Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, and attorneys for both men could not be reached for comment late Friday night.

Good question -- I would imagine that the WD suits will tie up a good bit of his money. He can't spend that much at the prison canteen shop, and prisoners, if AH's prison is like most, are not allowed to have cash. I don't know if any is set aside for his daughter... I would really like to know the actual story on his $$$$.

Borndem...don't forget those attorneys. Yeah, the ones who represented him during the murder of OL and all the endless legal aftermath that is still going on (tipster crap, appeals, etc). He still has a double murder trial coming up that has yet to start, but the legal fees have been racking up on that too...delay, delay, delay means $$$$$$

Doubt there isn't much left...if any. They'll drop him like a hot potato when it's all gone.

The cellphone saga continues....

A Suffolk Superior Court judge said Friday he expects to rule next week whether prosecutors in the double-murder trial of former New England Patriots football player Aaron Hernandez can examine a cellphone he gave to defense lawyers who represented him in his previous murder trial.
......
The dispute was returned to Locke after the Supreme Judicial Court reversed his earlier approval of a grand jury subpoena for the cellphone. Whatever Locke rules this time, another appeal to the state’s highest court is expected.

How many years has this cellphone been in his attorney's possession?
Doesn't sound like this next trial will start anytime soon.

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/lo...utors_cant_have_aaron_hernandez_phone_for_now

Suffolk Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Locke ruled Monday that Hernandez's lawyers in the double murder case have not yet had the opportunity to review the phone for the purposes of providing legal advice to Hernandez. Locke's ruling left open the possibility that prosecutors could obtain the phone and search it at a later date.

Aaron Hernandez friend acquitted of murder in Odin Lloyd case

A Bristol Superior Court jury cleared Ernest Wallace, 44, of first-degree murder, which would have carried a life sentence, after a 10-week trial and about eight hours of deliberations over two days. He was convicted of being an accessory after the killing for helping to cover it up and sentenced to 4 and 1/2 to 7 years in state prison.
