Several miles away... I hope the media have got that wrong - I can't imagine a 2 year old walking that far by herself.

Oh this sounds so bad. I really, really hope she wandered away on her own.
 
Two-year-old LA has been transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital via ambulance, she was listed in fair condition when she was transferred from Beverly Hospital.

the area of Harrision Circle in Rowley is blocked off as police conduct an investigation into LA’s disappearance. That location is about 7 miles from her Hamilton home.
 
Police don't believe parents in Hamilton should be concerned.

“As the cop in the town, I’m very connected to the people of this town,” Stevens said. “If I thought that parents should be concerned, I’d be the first to stand here and tell the parents to be concerned.”

Stevens would not comment on whether any charges are pending.

An Ipswich woman was driving in Rowley, about eight miles away from the LA's home, just before 10 a.m. when she spotted what she thought was a doll off Wilkes Road. It turned out to be LA.

The woman alerted authorities and the girl was rushed to Beverly Hospital where she was re-united with her parents. She was later moved to Boston Children’s Hospital.

From the article:

Before the young girl was located, authorities had asked Gordon College about a woman who was a student at the school located in Hamilton, Richard Sweeney, spokesman for the college, told NewsCenter 5.

Sweeney said that the woman had attended the school for one year before dropping out.

The girl was found alive several miles away on Newbury Road in Rowley several hours later by Marge and Tom Crosby who were driving to work in Amesbury.

A family friend said the girl was naked with her head shaved. She may also have had a bruise on her head. The Crosbys put LA in their car, put a blanket around her and immediately call police.

Hmm, very strange. Gonna wait to get confirmation from LE about this. I can't quite believe it's true.
 
The woman who found her said:

The girl was shivering “naked, sitting in a pile of leaves” and she had a contusion on her head. The woman bundled her up and kept her in her car until police arrived.

Police said the area where the girl was missing from is being treated as a crime scene until police can determine what happened.

Police said a 4-year-old girl was safe inside the Hamilton home during the time police were searching for Lyndon.

Chief Stevens reassured Hamilton residents that there is not a threat to the public.
 
Head shaved?! This case is bizarre. I am so happy LA is alive, though!
