FITCHBURG -- The family of a missing Athol man with ties to Fitchburg is asking for help in his safe return, saying he has been gone for more than a month without any contact.

Ward spoke to his girlfriend Thursday. She said the two of them had an argument, and he left the house. Police have conducted searches in nearby woods, involving tracking dogs, and they didn't find him.

Leger's girlfriend said his family and friends have all been out looking for him, and nothing. They are all very worried.

ATHOL (WGGB) — A vigil was held in Athol on Sunday for a man who went missing last month.

Unsolved: It's been 3 years since Scott Leger stormed out and never returned.

An Athol family has been desperately searching for their missing brother Scott Leger.

Scott's sister Heide Antunes always has her brother on her mind, "it's very frustrating, you're left with where is he? What happened? You go to bed thinking about it. You wake up thinking about it. There's just no answer."
For more than three years, those questions have lingered, unanswered.

Scott Leger was last seen on Dec. 7, 2013 at his home on Petersham Road in Athol. State and local police have extensively searched the area, but have found no sign of him.

The mystery begins around 9 p.m. on Dec. 7. Scott argued with his girlfriend. He had been drinking and stormed out of the house when his girlfriend called 911.

FITCHBURG -- The family of a missing Athol man with ties to Fitchburg is asking for help in his safe return, saying he has been gone for more than a month without any contact.

Scott Leger was first reported missing by his girlfriend, Danielle Marceau, on Dec. 11. She said she last saw Leger the night of Dec. 7 after he left their residence after the pair had fought. She did not elaborate on what they had been fighting about.

Leger is described as being 5 foot 4 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, with dark brown hair and green eyes. He has facial hair, but he may have shaved it off, according to the Missing Persons of America.

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- A central Massachusetts family opened up about their lost brother exclusively to FOX25's Bob Ward. One of his sisters has traveled across the world just to try and find him.

"He just wouldn't not call any of us," said Scott Leger's sister Heidi Antunes.

She is deeply worried about her brother. So worried, in fact, that when he disappeared, she moved home from Hawaii .

"I told my husband I want to go home right now. Right now. We ended up leaving everything behind. Everything we owned. We brought back home two bags of luggage. That's it," she said.

Eight years ago, on December 7, 2013, a man vanished without a trace from Athol. Scott Leger, 41, had been drinking and stormed out of the house when his girlfriend called 911. At the time, Scott may have had good reason to take off as there was an open warrant for him on a minor offense. But that doesn't explain why he is still missing today. It's possible that Scott may have wandered out into the woods, only to perish in the elements, still waiting to be found. He might be the victim of foul play. Bump. I live in athol. It’s a very small town and during December there would’ve been snow on the ground and rough conditions to be walking at night intoxicated. I didn’t live here when he went missing but I really hope to see some movement in this case and closure for his family. I wonder if the police have revisited the area or conducted any recent investigation, I also know a lot of people in town, after I talked about this case to them (very small town) didn’t know this man was missing. It’s very sad.
