I thought maybe she tried to commit suicide which is why there were officers at her door at the hospital plus she fell ill enough to go to the intensive care unit on the day Sandra was found - tried to slit her wrists maybe. I don't know if that would require intensive care though, and kinda doubt it.

If Melissa was taken to the local ER and a suicide attempt was suspected, there is every chance that she would have been in ICU for close psychological observation as well as or even more than for acute medical care.
We don't know, of course, if she spent any time on a Psych. unit for obs/ eval. since being " ill" or whatever.

It sounded to me like she had not told LE most of the things she told the reporter since they reacted by going back to the church and shed. Tracy Press made it a point to say that LE "responded" to her statements she made to them or something to that effect. It is so difficult to know what she said to them since she was in the hospital until Thursday. Was she medicated when she spoke to them in the hospital? What did she tell them before she went into the hospital and they questioned her? Why did they take her vehicle into be examined? It wasn't due to her suitcase being stolen as she said, imo, since she claimed she left it outside the vehicle.

She claimed it was filled with items to redo her Sunday School classroom and she was taking it to the church for that purpose. She claims she set it down beside the vehicle and drove off without it. She then claims it was stolen. (None of which I believe happened...I think she took the suitcase with the intent of hiding Sandra's body in it and disposing of her, imo.)

SS, I'm wondering if Sandra could have already been dead when she left to "go to the church", the body already in the suitcase, and instead of going to the church, she met someone in the silverado and dumped her in the pond. Maybe?

Sandra went towards the Lawless house on the video and wasn't seen again on it?

This is my understanding. When we see her skipping towards home then she turns and walks away was the last time she was seen alive.

I just don't see how it is possible. With her being outside, someone would have seen or heard something if she were killed right there in the mhp and put into the suitcase. I think her murder must have taken place either in the shed or inside the church. At least, it must have been away from the mhp.

The same goes with her being abducted. I think she had to be lured to avoid a scene or people driving by plus the kids home from school could have seen it.

Yes, I agree that she blabbed to some reporter, and that what was asked at the presser apparently shocked TPD. What do you make of the fact that this woman has apparently implicated herself into every aspect of what is known about the crime? And that she broadcast her secret note, her version of being near the body dump site, her idiotic version of a trip to the church and the stolen wateproof suitcase, etc to the MSM?

Do you think it is confesson with truth, or some half- truths, or mostly lies to cover up something worse or to try to cover up for other people, or what?

i just spent the last two hours reading this thread and i am just astounded at all of this new information. i am going to play devils advocate here, to me it is not unreasonable that someone could have stolen the luggage from the front of the house. maybe she has an ulcer and when news of the suitcase came and the possibility of it being Sandra, it flared up from the guilt that she felt for not having put two and two together, that her suitcase could be connected to this missing baby and she had not reported it missing? i am still confused about Sandra's visits. if this was the last house she headed to, then why wouldn't her sibling have seen her when she came to watch MH child when M went to the church? they have always stated that the last place she went, the child she went to see wasn't home, not that she couldn't play because she had to pick up her things. am i misunderstanding the visits? couldn't one of the many players who have been being sleuthed here easily picked up the suitcase either before or after Sandra was kidnapped? i just don't know what i think right now...

please don't flame me, i'm just trying to see it from a different angle. :blowkiss:

I'm not sure how many posters think Melissa actually killed Sandra alone, and how many think she is involved but is not the murderer, and how many like Joga, above, seem to think Melissa is innocent.
I'm leaning towards her not being the only one involved due to her extreme thought disorganization, plus she seems to be more of a dependent type person ( lives with her grandparents, called Sandra's sister over, etc) than an agressor.

Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. The articles give no indication she was harmed by someone else or coerced into saying the things she said to reporters. Her words speak for themselves, imo. It was as if she were placing herself in all these places on purpose, but giving excuses for being there.

I agree with you SS. It is like she knows that LE will uncover and place her at all these places, so she will go ahead and tell that she has a connection, hoping they won't see through her lies. Right?

I don't think they are all lies so I guess half-truths fit in there. The suitcase being stolen is a lie, imo. The note (if there is one) could be a half-truth as in she didn't find it, she wrote it perhaps. She isn't lying about being around the dairy farm and the area where Sandra was found, imo. I believe she did go to the church. She is fairly transparent, imo.

Check out this video. It is the second one down on the left with 3 men standing in front of a shed. About 1 minute and 7 seconds into the video, the reporter says it was found at Sandra's Home........

Thanks TXlady. I don't know if you noticed, but on this same video, near the end, the reporter stated that Melissa also talked about another child SHE HAD TAKEN TO THE PARK with her child, was reportedly durged with narcotics, and hat LE questioned her (MH) that same evening about it

Quite possible, imo. She appears to me to be giving hints by mentioning the drugging of the child she was questioned about and other things she said in those articles.

I guess I should have watched the video. If it showed Sandra going towards the Lawless home, I'm wondering if it also showed the purple vehicle of Melissa's pulling out or away to leave.

when did she supposedly find the note and it indicated where the body could be found? was the indication correct do we know? there are two things that i can't reconcile with her, the note and her saying she was around on the farm. see i just flopped from like, two posts ago! i seriously don't know what to think at this point...

You could be right, too. It is hard to know what to think about everything that Melissa said today and the questions the reporter was asking the Sgt. during the PC. I have only shared my immediate thoughts about what she said and maybe after I study them more...I will change my mind. (I rather doubt it, but maybe! LOL)

Perhaps it is true about the razor blades...but I have serious doubts about that rumor. (I haven't seen anything which backs it up yet.) I would think it would require many surgeries to repair her GI tract from A to Z and would take months not days, but I could be wrong.

I could see her possibly trying to commit suicide by drinking something which could cause internal bleeding tho. However, she didn't get ill until a few days after Sandra went missing unless I missed something. I would think if she had gotten beaten or raped...she would have been in the hospital in ICU within 24 hours. She was at the vigil the night after Sandra went missing and the night she supposedly found the note. Not certain when she entered the hospital, but got out Thursday.

I think she wouldn't even live after swallowing razor blades!

She claims it was the night after Sandra went missing after the vigil. It was supposedly in front of Sandra's home.

The note was exact. She claims it said, "Cantu, water, and suitcase (mispelled) plus named two streets...one being Whitehall". Whitehall Road is where the irrigation pond is located and exactly where Sandra was found. She did not say what the other street was listed on the note.
