*Trial continues (Day 2) (@ 9am CT) - MI – Egypt Covington (27) (June 23, 2017, found shot & killed in her house, Belleville) - *Shandon Ray Groom (24 @ time of crime/27/now 29) arrested & charged (12/22/20), re-charged (3/23/21) & arraigned (4/1/21) with 1 count each of 1st degree premeditated murder, felony murder, 1st degree home invasion & 3 counts of felony firearm. Plead not guilty. Held without bond.
Trial begin on 10/3/22.

I see that the court site says 1/9/23 & the jail site says 1/6/23 - I will go with the court site! :) And thank you!!
 
Oh - forgot to ask - For Groom all I have is his trial date coming up next - 4/10/23. His last hearing was on 10/4/22.

Any updates for him in the court site? TIA! :)

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - Two suspects accused of killing Egypt Covington have trials scheduled in the coming months, while a third man is awaiting a competency hearing.

Timothy Eugene Moore's jury trial is scheduled to begin Dec. 12, while Shandon Ray Groom's trial is scheduled for April 10, 2023. Groom's trial was supposed to begin last month but was adjourned until next year.

Shane Lamar Evans had a competency hearing scheduled Nov. 7 and is awaiting a continuation of that hearing on Jan. 9, 2023.


I have Moore with a review hearing on 12/1/22.

Niner, I don’t always understand all the updates u constantly post for us but I want to thank u for taking the time to share them with us. I try to read as many as I can….u are so amazingly skillful at tracking all these cases!
