The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office announced that they are looking for the help of the public in locating a missing person, John Robert Rowland, 36, of Skandia.

Rowland was last seen in the City of Marquette on Friday around 3:30 a.m., driving a friend’s marron Chevrolet Astro van, which was found on Forestville Road near Huron Woods Drive around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday.bbm

Rowland has brown eyes and brown hair and is 5’11” tall, weighing around 145 pounds according to officials.

Search continues for John Robert Rowland of Skandia Township

Marquette County Search and Rescue searched the Forestville area Thursday, March 1st, for John Rowland of Skandia Township.

Michigan State Police is expected to assist with a helicopter search on Friday, March 2nd.

UPDATE: Friday, March 2nd at 4:00 p.m.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office has few updates in the search for John Rowland, the 36 year-old Skandia man who was last seen on February 23rd.

The Michigan State Police helicopter that was supposed to aid in the search was diverted to the shooting at Central Michigan University. The Civil Air Patrol has accepted the mission to aid in the search and is currently searching the Forestville area.

John Rowland, the Skandia Township man who went missing on Feb. 28, was found deceased Saturday morning in Marquette County.

A UH60 Blackhawk Medevac Helicopter from the Wisconsin Army National Guard, based out of West Bend, Wisc., located Rowland at 10:39 a.m., about 15 minutes after arriving in the search area of Forestville in Marquette County.


His body was found in a wooded area north of where the Chevrolet Astrovan was located Friday around 6 a.m.
