Pontiac — The trial for two young men charged in the April 2012 baseball bat attack in which a Farmington Hills man was killed and his wife and teenage son seriously injured is scheduled to start Monday in Oakland Circuit Court.

Tucker Cipriano, 20, and Mitchell Young, 21, are charged with first-degree, premeditated murder, assault with intent to murder, and other offenses in the brutal home invasion in which Cipriano's father, Robert, was beaten to death. I see there was a live blog section with Hank Winchester reporting from inside the courtroom, but I don't think it's being live-streamed anywhere. Bummer.

Thanks for all of the links, Bette - I bookmarked the Live Blog, but am unsure of the hours of the court. This case isn't being followed like some other big ones, I'll probably just play catch-up here and there with it.

I doubt that jury selection/voir dire would be live streamed, and that's expected to take a few days. Maybe once the trial gets underway, there will be live coverage. :moo:

I thank you, also, Bette. I figured jury selection wouldn't be streamed but I hope the trial will be. Do you by chance know who's representing Cipriano? I can find it easy enough if you don't. I've got my sweet Granddaughters today & tomorrow so don't have a lot of time. Thanks, again, for updates. BTW, I'm in Birmingham & saw one of your posts re: Fr. Ed - we must be neighbors!

On the first day of jury selection in the Tucker Cipriano and Mitchell Young trial, an Oakland County Circuit judge granted, in part, an emergency motion seeking a gag order.

Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor John Skrzynski sought an order banning all extrajudicial comments from all witnesses and attorneys. Oakland County Circuit Judge Shalina Kumar ruled that the witnesses cannot make any comments about the case outside of the courtroom unless they are speaking to attorneys or their agents, but the attorneys themselves are still free to speak about the trial...

Too bad there is no death penalty in Michigan. These murderers deserve more than life in prison.
