GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for Shari Lorraine Garbacz, who is missing and may be in danger, and was last seen in Burton.

Garbacz, 50, was last seen at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at 1168 Wells St. in Burton, wearing a white t-shirt and underwear, according to a Facebook post by the Burton Police Department in Genesee County.

Police believe Garbacz may have been taken against her will, Detective Todd Claerhout told MLive.

Police named a person of interest and said he was driving a four-door full size orange Ram truck (possibly an older model) at the time of the incident. MLive has not named the person at this time because he has not been charged with a crime.

Police are asking people who may know her whereabouts or have information that will lead to a safe return to call 9-1-1 or speak to the detective in charge directly at 810-244-1545 or t.claerhout@burtonmi.gov.

Authorities say Shari Garbacz was born on November 25, 1971, and was last seen at 1168 Wells Street in Burton, on August 14, 2022, at around 6:30 a.m.

According to police, she was wearing a white t-shirt and underwear.

Investigators say Ron Barker is a person of interest. He was driving a 4-door full-size orange Ram Truck at the time of the incident.

BURTON, MI — A man is in custody and a woman has been found after authorities said she was missing and endangered Sunday, Aug. 14.

Burton police on Sunday asked the public to be on the lookout for Shari Lorraine Garbacz, who they said was missing and may have been in danger.

Hours after the alert was posted on the police department’s Facebook page, authorities said Garbacz had been found and that a person of interest was taken into custody.
