Charges: Derek Chauvin stabbed 22 times in prison

According to Washington County court documents, Kellie Chauvin was sentenced to 20 days in jail and three years of probation. She will also need to pay nearly $38,000 in restitution.
'Kellie Chauvin pleaded guilty in February to two felony counts of aiding and abetting tax fraud. As part of her plea deal, additional charges against her were dropped.
The tax evasion counts filed in July of 2020 accused Derek and Kellie Chauvin of underreporting their joint income by over $460,000 between 2014 and 2019, including more than $95,000 for Derek Chauvin's off-duty security work. At the time, prosecutors said they owed the state more than $37,000, including unpaid taxes, interest, and fees.'

Derek Chauvin Has Left Trauma Care and Returned to Prison Custody for 'Follow-Up Care,' Says Lawyer
The former police officer's "medical condition has improved" his lawyer states, after his stabbing in an Arizona prison on Nov. 24
Chauvin’s attorney Gregory M. Erickson says in a statement to PEOPLE, “Derek’s family confirmed that his medical condition has improved to the extent that he has been removed from the trauma care facility at a local Tucson hospital and returned to prison custody for his follow-up care.”
Erickson adds that Chauvin’s family “is very concerned about the facility’s capacity to protect Derek from further harm” and that “they remain unassured that any changes have been made to the faulty procedures that allowed Derek’s attack to occur in the first place.”
Inmate John Tursack has since been charged with attempted murder of Chauvin, along with assault with intent to commit murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault resulting in serious bodily injury to Chauvin.
Erickson says in his statement that Chauvin confirmed that “the facts contained in the charging document are accurate” to his family.

The video shows Chauvin hit Pope twice in the head with a flashlight, choked him until he lost consciousness and then knelt on the back of his neck for 15 minutes. Pope was 14 years old at the time.

Yes they were allowed to put their leg on one or both sides of a person's neck. I heard they changed it after they horrendously murdered Mr Floyd.

He was handcuffed on his stomach with Chauvin's one knee on his neck and at times his other knee on his back, Lane held down Floyd's feet while Kueng restrained his torso.
For starters Floyd never ever should have been kept on his stomach and all 3 thugs knew that.
Remember the state's first witness the female dispatcher?
She thought the screen that showed 3 cops on top of a male suspect had frozen because nothing changed from the last time she viewed it.
When she found out it wasn't frozen she called the Sargent,referred to herself as a "snitch" and told him what she's seeing could be excessive force.
That was her first time ever reporting a concern like this.
Even she knew and said numerous times on the stand that she had a "gut feeling".
And here we are 3.5 yrs later and the fans of Chauvin and his 3 thugs are once again trying to defend the indefensible with ridiculous theories and claims.

Here we have the 3 females who each in a different way played a pivotal role in getting some justice for George Floyd and his family.
Doing what is morally right does give one courage and strength.
Darnella Frazier, the teenager who videoed Floyd being killed and was brave enough to post the video on her social media.
As we know the rest is worldwide history.
Jena Scurry who from miles away on a police screen knew she was seeing excessive force and was brave enough to report it.
The female firefighter, Jen Hansen who was medically trained and told Thao to check the unresponsive Floyd's pulse, she testified she got louder and louder telling Thao he needs help and that she can administer help to him and Thao refused.

More importantly WHY was that in their manual and training? Who thought kneeing a neck was a good idea? Was it tested and studied?
It seems inherantly dangerous. Not applying direct pressure to the trachea is good but if you apply pressure with a neck in-between two hard things then logically that may or will eventually apply indirect pressure. That can cause suffocation or crush injuries.
Also the trachea and airway are not the only sensitive parts of the neck.
It's dangerous to apply pressure or force to the arteries, you can cause clots that block the brain, bleeds that exsanguinate quickly, and shunting of blood into the brain.
And the spine is extremely dangerous to mess with. You can cause nerve damage and partial or complete paralysis. You can internally decapitate a person and kill them instantly.
The neck is one of the most vulnerable parts of the human body.
So its madness to restrain a person by the neck unless you want to or don't care about killing them.
And it's just bizarre and insane for an organisation to train and advise someone to do it!
Why? Who? How?
Just because a technique is taught doesn’t mean that an officer cannot be prosecuted for using it longer than absolutely necessary.
At a certain point the use of acceptable force goes from acceptable to unacceptable due to the length of time it's applied and minimum level of restraint necessary to control a suspect.
It went to torturing Floyd to death as seen in the video instead of simply controlling a suspect.
Floyd was also handcuffed and on his stomach,feet being held,pressure on his torso and Chauvin's knee on his neck.
Disregarding Chauvin's knee for a sec, a suspect who is cuffed behind their back and on their stomach faces the risk of positional asphyxia which is a known fact to cops and needs to be rolled on their side.
