"An active shooter has left multiple victims at a Super 8 motel in rural Minnesota, according to local reports.

Police say the gunman is still at large and have ordered people to shelter in place in the the area of Big Lake Rd and Highway 33 in Cloquet, around 20 miles from Duluth.

Authorities have also reported that there are multiple gunshot victims but it is unclear how many there are and the extent of their injuries.

'If you are currently in the affected area, seek shelter immediately. Go to a room with a lock if possible, close and lock all windows and doors, and remain quiet. Call 911 if you see anything suspicious,' authorities said in a news release."

In addition, officers on the scene
'located one deceased person whom they believe to be the shooter',
police said in a news release. The shelter-in-place warning was lifted around 8:30 p.m."

Story has been updated and changed to three dead. One of them being the shooter.

One 22 year old female hotel employee, one 35 year old male found in vehicle outside hotel and the 32 year old male shooter found outside on the hotel property with gun nearby.

I suspect this is a domestic situation. Although the 32 year old male shooter seems awful old to be involved with the 22 year old female employee.

Chief Derek Randall, at approximately 6:30 p.m. an employee of the Super 8 Motel called 911 to report they’d found another hotel employee who looked like she had been attacked.

Cloquet police responded and found a 22-year-old female with a gunshot wound. She was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

During the initial investigation, Chief Randall said officers then located a 35-year-old Deer River man with multiple gunshot wounds who was deceased in a car in the parking lot.

“A 32-year-old man from Ramsey, Minnesota was found dead outside on the hotel property with evidence suggesting a self-inflicted gunshot wound.” Chief Randall said a hand gun was found near the man. Police Update: Still no motive in Cloquet shooting

I listened to the press conference this morning and again just now, IMO I'm fairly certain that a reporter asked if the male victim in the car and shooter were boths guests at the motel and the LE officer said that they think so.
