Missouri nurse accused of fatally poisoning husband to marry killer serving life sentence

A Missouri woman used poison to kill her husband -- so she could marry a man doing life behind bars for murder, investigators alleged.

Police said Amy Murray, 40, of Iberia, poisoned her husband with antifreeze, placed his body on a bed and set him on fire, Fox 5 Atlanta reported. After starting the fire last December, Murray then went to a McDonald’s with her 11-year-old son and dogs, Fox 22 Columbia reported, citing a probable cause statement.

The court documents showed that at the time, Murray was having an affair with a prisoner at the Jefferson City Correctional Center where she worked as a nurse, Fox 22 reported.

I toured the old (now closed) prison in Jeff City right by the river last year. They also have nighttime ghost tours. Anyway, it was so HUGE. I was incredulous that there even WERE that many bad guys in Missouri way back in the 1800's and early 1900's. Apparently there were! They showed where the women's ward used to be, too. Now the Amtrak Missouri River Runner goes right by the newer Jeff City prison complex. Anyway if you are ever in Jeff City, give the old prison a tour!

wow. Crazy and evil, simultaneously. Murray was being recorded as she spoke with her inmate "boyfriend"-isn't she savvy enough to know LEOs would look at those recordings?
"During the phone calls, Amy Murray talks about not wanting to be around her husband, Joshua Murray, and was wanting a divorce from him," the probable cause statement. "Amy Murray talks about wanting Joshua Murray to come home from Nebraska and she is tired of being around him."https://abcnews.go.com/US/missouri-jail-nurse-allegedly-poisoned-husband-set-house/story?id=60983249

Wow, she’s out on a $750,000 bond.
That’s $75k right?
#1 - how did she come up with that on a prison nurse’s salary?
#2 - how is she even permitted to post bond?
This is an awful crime and she should be in jail until trial IMHO.

I just read her lover killed a lottery winner. Maybe this answers it?

Jail nurse charged in husband’s killing wanted to wed inmate
Court records say a Missouri jail nurse who wanted to marry the convicted killer of $1.7 million lottery winner poisoned her husband before setting fire to the couple's home.

1)may have come from her parents-retirement funds, or house. Or perhaps defendant's house, if she has $75k in equity in it.
2)Yes.
