Howard said a Gasconade County resident from Morrison discovered a “4 to 6-inch piece of what appeared to be a human skull” on a sandbar near the confluence of the Missouri and Gasconade rivers. The man had been searching for arrowheads.
“It’s about half the size of a cereal bowl,” said Howard of the Dec. 3 discovery. The fragment is described as “weathered” but was not “petrified.”
