It was reported CNN was back in Ferguson last night. Tweets say they're moving around, getting shots of protestors, FPD, etc.

lol I can dig it! Been there...

(Back in my Mississippi days, I actually saw a family standing over a dead possum in the middle of the road, trying to decide if it was still "fresh" enough to take home and cook up! Just how "fresh" is this racoon?! lol)

Last time there was a dead raccoon on my road, I put on gloves, double-bagged it, and threw it in my trash can. The nice trash collectors took it away a couple days later.

That was when I lived in a suburb. Now I'm in a more rural area. Raccoons are nothing. The vultures pick them clean very quickly. The feral hogs, unfortunately, can last for days.

No, not at all! I am a birth daughter of Tennessee, a resident of another state, a former resident of a number of other states, but I will also consider Mississippi as "home." Both my parents are from Miss'ss'ppi, and I lived many a happy year there. Yep, Mississippi will always be "back home" to me no matter where I live. Now on to more burning questions:

State or Ole Miss??!!! lol

LOL! Don't the best roadkill possum recipes come out of Mississippi?

There is actually a certain curve (on a certain piece of highway between a certain town in Arkansas and another AR town near Memphis) that inevitably has dead critters in the road. On one trip I made the curve....only to find that someone had built a restaurant at that curve! Now...do you think I will evereverever eat at that restaurant??!!! Nope!Nada!Notmeormine! lmao

[Off to dye my hair. I figure while there's still some dye in my head I might as well put some on it as well!]

The last great revolutionary voice of our time, in my opinion, was Tupac Shakur. The national anthem of Ferguson on the protest grounds is undoubtedly Lil Boosie's "F--- the Police." This song became the anthem of many angry young protesters almost immediately. Most of the older folks marching with younger folks who asked them to stop using profanity never realized that the origin of those chants derived from the lyrics of this song.

Our closest example of a push for revolution in America during our lifetime for the most part came from his war cry.

Do the protesters "at" the Ferguson PD stand on the PD side of the street or across the street in the parking lot of Andy Wurm Tires?

"Meanwhile, some customers have said they are afraid Ferguson is a dangerous place, but the owner of Wurm Tire, which has been in Ferguson for 36 years, says that isn't true. “Completely safe, good people, people walking down the street even though we’re getting a bad reputation,” Andy Wurm said.Wurm said he has been forced to cut the hours of some of his mechanics, but hopes businesses will pick back up soon."

That was on Aug. 26, but I wonder if Mr. Wurm feels like a hostage now?

I'm sure they do. Which is why "inspectors" will sit outside for a few hours to see who comes and goes. There has been a huge crackdown on fraud by the feds and by states. It's the first thing I thought of when I heard Brown lived with his grandmother. I'm betting she didn't have him listed in her household because all have been very vague about where Mr. Brown resided.

According to Grandma he didn't live there he was just visiting. One would think she would know if he was living with her or not. I guess she could be lying or something.
“He was a good kid. He didn’t live around here,” said Desuirea Harris, grandmother of the victim. “He came to visit me and they did that to him for no reason.”

Most apartments these days have very strict rules about how long a person can "visit" before requiring that person to be added to a lease.

Section 8 rules vary by state and housing authority, but I believe on average any guest over 18 staying over two weeks must be reported, and there are procedures to file for exceptions.

Remember the discussion about resources? Here's a link to Missouri's Guide to Housing Assistance Programs: http://dmh.mo.gov/docs/ada/housingbook.pdf

Please be aware that there are many other resources available, including county and local resources. In many cases, signing up for one resource automatically enrolls an individual or family for other resources.

Shaking my head...
Wearing pants low or hat backwards, tattoos, loud music with lyrics many "don't get" is perfectly acceptable. Every single generation has had their own form of rebellion against society "rules"
Criminality, being a , a member of a gang, drug use, poverty and ignorance is not now or should ever be something to idolize or aspire to be.

I doubt if they have permits but here is what they can do without one. LE does have the right to ask them to keep moving.

If organizers have not obtained a permit, where can a march take place?

If marchers stay on the sidewalks and obey traffic and pedestrian signals, their activity is constitutionally protected even without a permit. Marchers may be required to allow enough space on the sidewalk for normal pedestrian traffic and may not maliciously obstruct or detain passers-by.
