Culbertson was last seen in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 6, 2010. He left a note stating he was going to harm himself and has never been heard from again. Shotgun shells were found at his residence but his gun was missing. Culbertson was familiar with the Mark Twain Forest near Greenville, Missouri, and his family believes he would have gone to a wooded area if he was suicidal. At the time of his disappearance, Culbertson had no form of transportation and hitchhiked to get around. His whereabouts remain unknown.
