Some of the bones found two days ago in rural Cass County have been identified as those of missing Raymore woman Jessica Runions.
Kansas City Police notified the Runions family Wednesday evening, according to a release from the Cass County Sheriffs Office. Runions, 21, was last seen on Sept. 8.
Forensic specialists were called in after a mushroom hunter found human bones Monday afternoon near a quarry in rural Cass County. One skull was found the first day of the search and a second the day after.
Because the second skull appears to be much older, it could take months to identify.

We can only hope that it doesn't take months. That just seems so cruel to bring the family this far and then have to make them wait longer. I think it's obvious it's Kara, but we need word from the medical examiner to make it official. Here is the local news in KC announcing when they found out about Jessica's identification. http://www.kmbc.com/article/family-...ns-found-in-cass-co-is-their-daughter/9237866 Edit: The reporter states Jessica's skull or the newer skull was found first, and that LE said the second skull looked quite a bit older... Seems like the nail in the coffin, for a lack of better words...

I know this must have been covered before, so forgive me...I've only followed the threads for Kara sporadically and a Jessica a bit more, but:
How is Kylr's first name pronounced? Is it his birth name?
(I can't be the only one who reads in my mind as "killer", am I?)

The family of Jessica Runions confirms to @kmbc that remains are of their daughter.

I hope Kara's poor family doesn't have to wait much longer, how excruciating. A lot of tweets are saying the identification could take up to a year, not sure where that timeline is coming from. Unimaginable.

It's horrible. I wonder if all the teeth are missing. I can't imagine why it would take up to a year to make an identification.
I hope Kara's parents still have her dentals

A year? The most I've seen (just though a quick Google search) is six months. I can't find my link now, but I was reading earlier that if they cannot ID a body from dental records, they will use DNA testing which I know can take a few months. But a whole year? I don't think I can stand it.I hope Kara's poor family doesn't have to wait much longer, how excruciating. I was just thinking that as well. I would imagine, given the amount of time that has passed, they would have been advised to have them on record for when or if this day ever came.I'd imagine their dentist would still have those records, especially since it's been a missing persons case. I doubt they'd be thrown out.
