Distinguishing Characteristics: African-American female. Brown hair, hazel eyes. Allen wore braided blonde hair extensions at the time of her disappearance. She was a non-smoker and non-drinker in 2007. She has a tattoo of two eyes and a rose on her shoulder and a tattoo of a half-moon behind her right ear.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A blue blazer, Apple Bottom jeans, and sparkly silver shoes.

Details of Disappearance

Allen was last seen at a female friend's apartment in the 8600 block of Frost Avenue in Berkeley, Missouri on March 13, 2007. She was staying there for a few days. Allen was at the apartment when her friend left for work, and the friend spoke to her on the telephone that day while Allen was at the home. When Allen's friend returned, Allen was missing. Authorities stated Allen is missing under suspicious circumstances and may be in danger. It is uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning. All of her belongings were left behind, including her purse and a tax return check for $2,000. On the day of her disappearance she went to a job interview at a telemarketing company on Watson Road and made an appointment for a second interview; she was looking for work closer to her St. Louis, Missouri home. Allen was a nursing student at the time of her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.

Kelly Allen's family held a service on Thursday in hopes that someone will be able to help them find her.

Allen disappeared last March when she went to a job interview in west St. Louis County.

Kelly was 20 years old at the time of her disappearance. She is 5'4" and 150 - 160 lbs. She has hazel eyes. She was wearing her hair in blond micro braids. She has two (2) tattoos - one (1) on her shoulder of two(2) eyes and a rose; one (1) behind her right ear of a half moon.
She was last seen visiting her friend's house in the Frost Apartment Complex.

The article/statistic in the link is pretty shocking, stating that the African-American population represents 13% of the people in the U.S., but represents 33% of this *missing* in the U.S. Wow....

Quite sad, if you ask me. Was there any characteristics given to the interviewee and employees of where Kelly wanted to work? Suspicion is on them.

Unfortunately I feel she hasn't been located, I think they need to search nearby for her, just a feeling I have. I saw some potential matches, but none really fit due to distance, and I think if she had left voluntarily and had been living elsewhere she would not have left the $2000 tax return. JMO.

This was the best possible match I came across, think the weight may be off because the size of clothing would indicate someone a bit heavier. However, I really think she has not been located, due to the circumstances of her disappearance I think it was likely an impulse crime of opportunity and her body is likely nearby or in a landfill.

-Would anyone be willing to help with the investigation? Names ?
-Does she have any children? are they old enough to talk to investigators?

Some additional investigative, considerations:
-Why was she staying with this friend?
-Was she expecting anyone?
-Did she arrive at the interview alone ?

Scene :
-Is this a House or an apartment?
-Any break ins, robberies, sexual assaults, or home invasions in the area?
-Any arrests if there were?
-Was her friend that she was staying with expecting anyone?
-Is there anyone who routinely enters the residence (For EX, housekeeper/Maintenance, etc.)
-Is there anyone else who has a key to the residence?
-Was the Door locked, when her friend returned that day?
-Was anything of value missing from the residence?
-Was there any sign of forced entry ?
-Any sign of a struggle inside the residence ?
-Was there anywhere that she (and her friend) would routinely go (another house etc..)?
-Was there anything needed for the home that might've led her to leave in search of it ? (for ex Toilet paper etc..)

Other possible indications:
- Is there any conflicting investigative factors?, (for example, leaving her purse but taking her jacket? etc.) ?
-Any recent trips or vacations?
-If so, to where ?
-Does she follow a routine, or have any habits like running, biking, exercising ,etc.?
-Any hobbies, things she liked to do, or places she liked to go in her spare time?

Friend (other occupant of the residence)
-Any enemies, problems with anyone?
-Any recent arguments?
-Involved with anyone?
-If so how was their relationship?
-Does this individual have access to the residence?
-She or anyone she associates with (family/friends) ever been in trouble with the law
-If so for what ?
-Do any of them have access to the residence?
-What is her financial situation?
-Was there an argument or disagreement between the 2 before she disappeared?
-Does she have any children?
-If so is the father of them residing with her ?
-If not where does he reside?
-Does he have access to the residence?
-Was she expecting anyone that day, any deliveries etc.?
-What's her financial situation, any debt?
-Any drug or alcohol use?
-Work history?
-Did anything recently happen, or change in her life?
-Is she on any meds?
-For what?
-Internet history search?
-Any oddball occurrences, prior to or immediately following Kelly's disappearance? (phone calls, letters, strange individuals hanging around)
-If this is an apartment was anyone recently evicted?
-Has there ever been a burglary or attempted burglary at this residence?
-If so how long ago?
-What was taken if so?
-Was this ever resolved (arrest made etc.) ?
-What does she think occurred?
-If she has children, can we talk to them?, are they of age to be able to respond?

I am interested to know if any organized searches were conducted. I can't tell from the MSM I have found on the case. However, taking a look at the LKA location, there is some wooded area near infrastructure and further away some wooded area near train tracks that should've been searched.

I think the circumstances warrant it, sounds like either involuntary or endangered missing.

Has anyone got in touch with TexasEq. or other similar organizations?
