In reading her rap sheet, I see that Auntie Sha Sha self identifies as a Native American. Here's a map of general ancestral areas, prior to all the relocations of the 1800's:

If I had to guess, I'd say she was a Chickasaw, living in the northern part of MS. I think the Creeks are mostly in the southern part, at least they are in AL where they run several casinos. The Cherokees are mostly in NC, TN, and the northern parts of GA & AL.

I myself have some Cherokee blood (a great grandmother I never met). I know what you mean with that poker face, though. It was rare to see her daughter, my grandmother, express much of any emotion. Must be a cultural thing.

But now I must lapse into something a little less serious, and describe a small ritual one of my nieces goes through any time she uses the word "Indian"...

First she says "Indian" and sticks two fingers up behind her head, like Uncle Martin's antennas. Then she says "Not" and with the same hand places the tip of her extended little finger against the middle of her forehead. There, now that I've ticked off half my ancestors and the governor of Louisiana, I'll bid adieu.

I really have never seen on SM any fingers pointing towards LD, the Mom. If anything, I'd say many gave the grieving mother a wide berth & never have I seen where anyone has accused her of JC's murder.

I personally feel bad for this woman.
