My opinion...

It should be no surprise that family may be suspect, investigated and/or opinions from the public questioning if they did it...You can read it in the paper everyday of a mother/father killing their child, or a father, or brother, sister etc...No one should be free of scrutiny just because they are family...LD has put herself into the internet pages feeding the groups information...some she later changed the details or denied saying...She is in it to talk about her daughter...I get that...But the groups she participates in are in it to try and solve the crime not to cater to her psychology needs ..Everyone that touched JC's life will be looked at as a possible suspect...including family...And every bit of information that can be dug up about JC, her friends and family, including rumors, will be discussed in those groups...She needs to expect that, accept that or leave the groups...The discussions/investigations, whether it be online sleuth groups or LE...is not about LD's feelings...it is about who murdered Jessica...

One sure way to avoid internet trolls is to stay off the internet. It gives them no power.

"Some" clues? "Some" evidence?

Dead end.
OK. Then!

She’s angry, she’s lost and she’s hurt.

She wants to know why this happened to her daughter and she wants the finger to stop being pointed at her.

:scratchhead:
what am I missing here?
It's clear to me. First and foremost she wants the pain to end. Sadly, of course that won't happen soon. Only time will heal her anguish, and then never completely. Her pain is so raw it's heartbreaking.
-------------------------

She has been continually harassed by people who accuse her and other family members of having something to do with the murder.

Lisa was in tears when she spoke about the attacks, most of which come from people on the Internet.

"They quit accusing (Jessica's father) when the law enforcement cleared him," Daugherty told FOX13. "They cleared Ali. They need to clear me or my son or my daughter...or arrest us. I can't take much more of that page. They accused me of murdering my child."

[...]
"She can't defend herself and I try to defend her, and I am called everything under the sun and threatened," Daugherty said. "It's ridiculous."

What I don't, and never will, understand is the level of cruelty I observe in so many tragic cases. By that I refer to the irresponsible and negligent actions of some witless human beings behind a keyboard. Yes, she might be better off if she shut down the computer and stayed away from the internet. It wouldn't stop the haters, but she wouldn't be subjected to their poison. It's the utter helpless frustration that causes her to return, imo. She can't bring her daughter back to life, and she can't bring her killer to justice. And she can't make the hurt stop hurting. She CAN channel her anger to fight for the truth in the court of public opinion. So that's where she turns. Unfortunately, it's a hopeless battle because the individuals she's up against don't want the truth. They want a target.

"District Attorney John Champion says they’ve had some clues, some evidence, but it all points to a dead end"

Well, you know what they say, "No news is no news."

I think a prime suspect is sitting in the Ouachita Parish jail this very minute. If the DA would just take a minute to wipe some of that BBQ sauce off and drive down with the Major and maybe an FBI guy, they could have a very interesting Q&A session with ME about his whereabout on the evening of 12/6/2014.

While I do agree that LD's heartache is real and that the additional anguish she faces are unimaginable... however even as she is fairly low on my personal list of 'suspects' in this case, she has done little to seek justice for her daughter. I am yet to see an independent private investigator be brought in on behalf of the family. I am yet to see any personal pleas to LE other than those pertaining directly to those survived by JC. We have all read about BC's financial woes regarding life insurance payouts (or lack there of), we have all read about LD & her kids being ran through the dirt by people online... when am I going to read about a fundraiser to pay a private investigator? Or perhaps someone demanding an independent outside investigation to be conducted on the PD/Sheriff/Prosecutor's office? This sad, pitiful case of the murder of this beautiful girl is slowly being overshadowed by the circus of a town that is Courtland, by the corruption and seediness of the criminal justice system of MS as a whole, and now by the deceased's parents making personal pleas to the public regarding things other than addressing the big elephant in the room. I have no doubt that more people in that town know what happened than not. I am equally confident that it is going to take an outside resource to bring this case to closure; and by outside source, I mean outside of the family, outside of the town, outside of the state, completely removed from the investigation as a whole. Just my opinion, of course...

I don't think that LD knows what happened to Jessica, but I have a strong suspicion that some of the people who are close to her do have some knowledge (or suspicions) and that they have hidden those suspicions from her, not so much to protect her, but to protect themselves. Whenever the names of several people get mentioned on the FB pages she subscribes to, the posts are quickly removed. Not so, with the people who have already since the beginning been questioned by investigators and released. JMO

Just six weeks and two days until the one-year aniversary of one of the most sadistic and cowardly crimes in recent memory. The perp(s) would have made good guards at Auschwitz.

Either it's time for LE to get off the pot, or to throw in the towel and declare this a cold case. In the meantime, Jessica's cold-blooded murderer(s) await the opportunity to strike again.

:coldcase:

I still think that the motive was to shut her up and that her murder was personal...so I sort of doubt that the same people will conspire to do the same sort of thing again. JMO.....I also think that any tattoos she may have had, may have afforded some clues, especially if they were recent ones, but, of course, if her skin was as burned as was reported, there may have been no tattoos to inspect. JMO

Where did JC go for lunch, when she was working at Goody's? With whom did she have lunch? What did her new co-workers know about her? They, smartly, seem to be the only people NOT opining. I'm hoping that they were helpful, and that they were asked to not discuss the case. JMO

I'm assuming that LD was willing to make a positive ID at the hospital at the time of Jessica's death. But in her badly burned condition, I'm guessing the coroner insisted that dental records be used to confirm her identity. Tattoos, even fingerprints, were probably not identifiable.

I think you're wrong about the capacity of her killer(s) to act again. This was a heinous crime, dripping with raw hatred and vengeance. I don't think such hatred could be quenched by just one such murder and fire. Couple that predisposition with such a person or persons being emboldened by their seeming imperviousness to punishment for their crime, and I think LE has got a real problem festering down in south Panola County.

...or Ouachita Parish.

The Chronology of MDE

When I go to the link http://www.homefacts.com/offenders/Mississippi/Panola-County-5.html and enter his name, I am given the option of clicking/selecting the "Incarcerated" MDE

http://www.homefacts.com/offender-detail/MS382659/Michael-Dewayne-Eubanks.html

What I glean is that MDE committed the sexual offense in LA while living at this address: 1101 N 3rd St, West Monroe, LA 71291. MDE was convicted on Dec. 17, 2008. Some time after his release, he registered in Courtland, MS as an SO at 124 Main Street and possibly another address in Herron Subdivision. Since that time, and we know it was after Jessica's murder, he returned to West Monroe and was arrested with numerous charges, including aggravated arson, on 08/09/2015.

Since he no longer lives in Courtland and currently resides in the Ouachita Jail in LA, then Courtland, Panola County, MS has updated their files to indicate his current residence in the Ouachita Jail.

Thank you, rbarber, for including his numerous tattoos in the information. He had his own name tatted across his back. While not wearing a shirt, everyone he encountered would know his name. Not a very smart move for a rapist or sexual offender type.

And thank you, DeDee, for that simple explanation about the recent update of the Panola County SO file.

But what I am still curious about is the -timing- of that update. If you'll look back at my Post #815 dated 10/15/2015, that's when I started posting links to ME's sex offender webpages. Why would the "powers that be" in Panola wait until then to make such changes, when we can plainly see from the Ouachita Jail booking information ME had been a resident since as early as 08/09/2015? Just getting a little spooky feeling is all, like maybe big brother is reading Websleuths. I guess we all should be flattered.

Dunno, just a hunch.

You say all that with the assumption it is a murder. I still believe it could have been a suicide. I am hard-headed. Sometimes, it takes proof and a lot of convincing for me to move off the fence. ;)

If LE says it's murder Ill go with that, until something else proves otherwise. They have a lot more info than we do.

Jessica worked part-time at Goody's in B'ville. Thus, she may not have enjoyed a particular "lunch time" for that reason. The Goody's Dept store manager was interviewed, via phone service; however, I do not have that link. She basically said Jessica loved her job and they loved her.

Jessica's favorite places to eat out were Taco Bell and Sonic.

I was wondering how much effort had already been expended in Websleuths to try and solve this murder. I was amazed to learn the following:

Total 11803

Ladies and gentlemen, that is a lot of unsolicited input for LE in my opinion. No wonder they don't read any of it, or at least SAY they don't read it. It works out to about a thousand theories or subplots a month. Do you think we are helping any? Has anyone been arrested yet? For that matter, are there even any officially recognized Persons of Interest (POI) in this case?

I got to say it has been very interesting for me personally. But in the long run, has it been very productive? What if the answer truly is response #9,452 out of 11,803? What good does that do anybody? It's like pointing to yon haystack and saying, I know the needle's in there. You just need to drop your drawers and do some due diligence with your rosy cheeks...

Hopefully with the upcoming November 3rd election, things will get stirred up once again. Nothing like some newspaper headlines and editorials to make an incumbent "seem" to be making things happen.

Election Update: Down to three candidates now. Debate is scheduled for October 27th (Tuesday) in Sardis.
